We ended the session for a while, so my friend unconsciously threw some lit coals into the bin, thinking it was ash. I made another bowl, and my nose started filling with the most nasty ass smell. Looking around the room for the source of the shit smell, i looked at the bin which had smoke coming from it. It stank the whole room out. I put it out imediately with water and moved the bin to see if the coal had gone through. It had burned massive hole through the bin and into the carpet, causing plastic to melt onto the carpet. The second, weeeeeeel, couldn't find it. Frantically moved the couch and coffee table but no coal. But I smell something burning. Then I saw it, it dropped into my roomates $200 work boots and burned a hole in the insole. Oooooops, still haven't told him. Then there was the time my cat jumped onto of my kegerator and flipped the tap open. Came home to 5 gallons of homebrew emptied out onto the floor, sweet. mattarios2 Posted September 13, 2008 Share Posted September 13, 2008 yeah but I am a pro now, it tipped over and I caught it (meaning the hookah) in mid air, grabbed the tongues picked up the coals and sat back as if nothing happened while I watched the coals ruined smoking and smelling burning carpet, I'm sure we all know what that wretched nasty smell smells like. r1v3th3ad Posted September 13, 2008 Share Posted September 13, 2008 ...trashed my apt. last year, managed to salvage most of the carpet...did prob $100 worth of damage, but with fixing, paid $35drinking last night, my dumbass freshman cousin was here too. I had kpeach going and we were all wasted playing texas holdem when POW! She tugged on the hose and knocked my baby onto the coffee table. Thank god there isnt a mark on my baby, no damage. put out a coal on the carpet before it got bad and then a bunch on the table. Ten minutes later, I noticed another coal was burning on the carpet......she will be back sometime this week to clean and repair. she knows this and that if she doesnt she no longer has a safe-haven to enjoy herself at.not to mention I now have to lay down the hammer...vacation from hookah for her.on a side note....if it broke, shes a good kid and she would have replaced it. Stuie Posted September 14, 2008 Share Posted September 14, 2008 Never burned a carpet until I bought a house...what luck.Got a 25$ rug covering them in my living room and have saved me from a few more burns. Had to do one transplant....the guy that did that is banned from house.I find picking up my charcoal carrier and ashing in there has prevented me dropping anymore, has stopped me from worrying to much about navigating the coals around the bowl and coal tray.
