modisess
Hey, I need some advice here. I have a no brand chinese hookah, about 22". So here's the problem, the down stem of the hookah, which is detachable, wont fit in to the main stem anymore. I used to be able to just screw the down stem on but now i could just push the screw into the base of the stem and the down stem would just fall off. It feels like the thread inside the main stem has almost flattened out. So I wanted to know what i can do to make them fit again. I am planning on upgrading to a KM but i wanted to fund it by selling this old hookah. I might just glue it on permanently but i don't know what i can use, it depends on the buyer really, i would also like some advice on how to keep it detachable. leadpipecinch21
there's really not a whole lot you can do in this situation. as others have said, you can try building up the downstem so you can just push it in like there's a grommet on it, or you can glue it. or, you can make a new downstem for it, if possible. i looked in the hardware store i used to work at, and we had these long, thin metal nipples...i got one that was a little bit wider than my old one, and basically just screwed it in to the shaft...the hookah had like some plastic or something in it, so the new nipple basically made its own threads in the plastic/metal of the heart. worked well for a while then completely broke, but it's a possibility. hookah hippie
uff sounds like a pain in the ass you probably tightened it too much and stripped the screw You could try soldering it together not sure how are tight you could get it or maybe wield it together

zymerholic
ummm duck tape, fixes pretty much everything else. You know what they say, if it moves and it shouldn't you need duck tape, if it used to move and now it doesn't you need a hammer.
chinamon
if it is a cheap no-name chinese hookah then it might not even be worth your time/effort in trying to repair it to fund for a KM.you probably wont get much for it anyway.
