vegloo
so last night my girlfriend and i were going to do some reviews...we had everything set up and i starting puffing to get it going. I got about 8 puffs in before our new kitten ran up and got tangled up in my brand new razan hose. the whole hookah fell over, my coals went flying. it was terrible. my first instinct was to grab the cat because she was swatting around the coals. After that, my girlfriend was screaming at me to get the coals because they were on our carpet...so without thinking, i picked one up with my bare hand and threw it on my ashtray, then i noticed the other coal was laying on my new razan on my hookah rug. So it ruined my hose but didn't burn through to the carpet.So..anyway. I ended up with a nice burn hole in our apartment, a slightly burned hand, brand new razan hose with a bad burn hole through it (it's about to split in half), wasted 2 coconaras, somehow ended up burning my ashtray, chipped my already chipped base even more, my stem seems a bit crooked. AND on top of that, we couldn't even smoke after that because my other hoses were at my parents house. Only positive thing is my kitten wasn't harmed.I was in complete shock afterwards. I can't afford to fix any of that.Anyone have any tips with burns in carpets? (probably not, but thought i'd ask)Also does anyone know if i can salvage my hose? I'll try to get some pics up. I thought maybe trying some electrical tape? I don't know much about fixing things.I don't think i can fix my stem or my base. The base is chipped right where the grommet goes in and now it's sharp enough to cut through skin!Ahh, i just can't believe this happened...Sorry guys, i had to vent. Stuie
Total Bummer! We all have been there.Razan... Try a temp fix of electrical tape. Since it's made from hose material you can buy a cheap little garden hose connector. Cut clean around the burn and tighten down the patch.http://www.doityourself.com/invt/u316494It will look funny but it's cheaper than a new razan.Carpet... Transplant Baby! cut it out and cut the same size out of the closet and super glue the new peice down. It will eventually start looking like the normal carpet. So sorry buddy. Buy a pet carrier also. Our dogs are in their crates or outside when we smoke.
Scoop
depends how bad the burn is.if its deep you need to use carpet from a closet and cut out the burn and replace it.if its not deep, using a razor gives it that shaggy carpet feel and gets rid of the charred end. Brain Damage
Using a razor on the carpet has always done the trick for me.And for the hose: Lots of duct tape and maybe a hose cover (If you don't like that shiny silver aesthetic) and you should be good as new
liquidglass
electrical tape should work wonders for your hose, my nammor has it's share of electrical tape and is air tight. As far as the base goes, throw a little duck tape around the rim to keep the sharp points hidden. You could always put a dab of gorilla glue and let it fill up the space or goop or something of the sort. sorry to hear about it man, i would have taught the cat a lesson otherwise that won't be the last time. hookah hippie
instead of carpet you should put down a towel that you don't mind getting ruined thats what I do

Canon
take scissors and cut the burn out vertically. after you cut up the burn like that then cut the noticable spots out horizontally.
Bulldog_916
Ouch, I would do the transplant idea and glue it in as well as you can. Dont let it discourage you from smoking indoors, just put down a disposable carpet if you do so that nothing quite as bad happens again. The electrical tape idea is good as well. There are a lot of places that sell colored electrical tapes as well so that improves your chances of finding a matching color. Keep your head up.
