egoncalo
Hey all -So I finally have waded my way through the shit that is local tobacco laws near me, have found a location, and I am now ready to register for my EIN number. I need to come up with a business name before I do so though. I'm trying to think of a good name but haven't had any "amazing" ideas yet. Please feel free to contribute your idea for the name, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'll most likely be registering the name some point tonight or tommorrow... so there is only a limited time frame. Thanks again!-Evan
Apets22
Well, its hard to really say, because I dont know where youre located youre heritage or anything like that. But Id keep it somewhat middle eastern. Also do you have any ideas that maybe we could improve upon?
egoncalo
My current favorites are either just "Twilight" or "The Twilight Lounge" and "The Caterpillar Lounge." I'm not of middle eastern descent, so although it will have that sort of atmosphere, I'm not going for a completely traditional lounge.
natgnat
Perhaps a little description of what kind of a hookah lounge you're thinking of....more traditional, or less so?Having said that...the only thing I could come with in ten seconds or less was "Cloud Nine"...but that might not be such a good idea.[edit]I do realize you did in fact post that you're not going for super-traditional. My bad. Edited September 11, 2008 by natgnat

cohlineman
I may need some phonetic spelling help from our M E brothers and sisters here, but I always thought FAKHEMwould make a great name for a lounge...it means "Coal" or "Coals" and has that nice double entendre sound to it much like F**K Em! wurwulf
My vote would be for "The Caterpillar Lounge." Or just "The Caterpillar."
Apets22
I like the caterpillar, the alice in wonderland allusion is pretty bad ass.Wait, that was alice in wonderland right, or am I dumb?Maybe the Twilight Caterpillar? It will be damn original if nothing else.
wurwulf
Yeah, the Caterpillar was in Alice. Arguably the most famous hookah-smoker of all time.Maybe "The Twilit Caterpillar." A slight variation that makes it a bit more...exotic?
coplinb
My vote def goes for the caterpillar lounge, quite unique.

egoncalo
Thanks for all the comments and ideas everyone. The twilight caterpillar could be interesting, and my current personal favorite is "Caterpillar Lounge." I'll have to play around with ideas today a bit more at work. If anyone else has any ideas, please post them, helps big time!
egoncalo
QUOTE (dom209 @ Sep 10 2008, 09:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>my 1st question would have to be are you opening a hookah bar, cafe, or lounge?Dom the main focus will just be smoking, with some limited beverages. So I'd assume it would be called a "lounge."

Ive never heard of a lounge with that nameI think its really cool. Ive seen like 12 (hyperbole) with the name Havana, Id say thats more cliche. Twilight and Starlight I think Ive also seen. Apets22
I agree egan. Caterpillar has some connotations of hookah. Personally, I would never think The Caterpillar lounge was a bar or restaurant. Twilight, Starlight, even Havana all are ambiguous.I think that middle eastern words are more cliche then anything. And those could very easily be a middle eastern restaurant.
