newjacksm
My KM LOOKS BEAUTIFUL pics comingbut got some question, when i put the stem in the base its really hard to get the two basically touching, i have to put water on the grommet to get it going down.Even when I do that the stem and base are about 1/4 away from touching. Next questionMy Razan is making a whistling noise at the end of the hose when I blow into it and blow out of it. I checked for leaks. There is none is this normal with some normal where and tear will it stop, its quite annoying. Now to acclimate my blue gumball tangiers :))Pics coming ASAP.P.S. Thanks MNHOOKAH Edited September 13, 2008 by newjacksm

Thanks MNHOOKAHYou can either shave down the grommet so it fits better, buy a diff. grommet, or keep using it and until it gets used to the size.I would just keep using water with it and eventually it will fit nicely. My razan never made any noise so I am not too sure about that, but if there is no leaks thats all I'd care about. newjacksm
Yeah its fine I didnt get any grommets with my hookah ill just use them off my old one
leadpipecinch21
if you didn't get any grommets, call up the place that sent you the hookah and tell them...they should give you the right grommets.
clickhea
try a light coat of cooking oil (off your finger) around the grommet before you put it in the base
Codename067
You can try shaving down the grommet..sandpaper is your best friend for a permanent fix. It takes time. but its worth it at the end.Your hose could be leaking somewhere. Do a test to make sure its leak free [Put your hand on the top opening stem and try to take a drag from the hose..you should not be able to, and if the water circulates in the base, then you got a leak that needs your attention]
newjacksm
My Razan does have a leak at the bottom of the shaft there was some water bubbles coming out of it and the KM hose seems to be really restrictive for some reason
newjacksm
So my KM hose feels pretty restrictive any ways that I can fix that? I am exchanging E-Mails between Tarik right now about the Razan and the KM hose. It really is hard to blow in and out of the hose with it.
mattarios2
in my eyes the km hoses are a happy medium between thick and thin ... i feel the razan/nammor is actually to big since I have been using my km hoses lately.I feel i get thicker and smoother clouds with the km hose, kinda weird if you ask me. But when i have the bowl perfect, and no holes are clogged I notice no difference between the razan and a KM hose.I don't think there is anything you can do to make it less restrictive only things to the hookah to help even it out. Like I said when the bowl and everything is perfect i notice no diff. between km and razan.
newjacksm
Its more restrictive then any hose I have blown in/out of. Guess have to wait till I use it if I am going to use either of the hoses gotta wait back on the responses of Tarik. newjacksm
So last night I smoked out my NEW KM with the KM hose being the Raza is toast. Me and Tarik from MNHookah fixed it up I will be getting a new hose on my next order which is fine with me. But anyways more about my amazing smoke session last night.First we started off with tangiers.I let it acclimate last night on tinfoil like so in the the thread I read, I dont think I let it acclimate enough and move it around enough because you would get the hint of a taste but the after taste would be very tabaccoy. I barely got a buzz from Tangiers regular line. My friend that night surprised me with Starbuzz Bluemist! We smoked it and wow. It was quite delicious the KM was amazing, I never pulled like that and got so much smoke with ease. Purging was a bit hard, but I think it was the hose. the blue mist flavor lasted forever which I am not use to because on my small hookah I think it ruins flavors, I think it needs to be cleaned literally with a pipe cleaner but nothing can fit down there. The best part is when we decided to call it quits the blue mist was still going strong it just started to rain! I feel like its smoking my shisha right its not burning it any more and I get the true flavors out of my KM!The tangiers I stopped smoking because some one caused a party foul there and almost destroyed my km by pulling the hose and tipping it over but i grabbed it and the coals flew every where. and I decided to put the tangiers out of commision till I get it right.I have the Tangiers right now in Plastic tupperwear acclimating over night in my room. I just shook it up a bit.
vaypourus
The tangiers will take a little bit to get right....make sure you really pack the bowl with the Tangiers, more so than you do with regular shisha. I've found the fork method works very well.I had a real hard time getting my old Egyptian to fit into the base; I used a light metal file to remove some of the rubber from the grommet and it worked pretty well.I would personally upgrade to one of the better KM hoses anyways; the ultimate hoses are really nice. They look better than the Razan/Nammor (more traditional) and they pull just as well. The only downside is that they leather hoses and are not washable, unless you spend the time to convert them to a washable style.
timmah84
My KM Extreme hose (same hookah you have the amoura, diff hose tho from MNH too, shrug) doesn't fit very well either. I like the hose, it's just a pain in the ass to get it to sit properly in the hose connewctor, the grommet doesn't seem to be the best for it. I will prolly get a Razan myself. Wharbone
My Razan also makes the whistling noise. It doesn't happen when attached to the hookah, just when I blow air through it when off the hookah. My regular KM hose actually feels like it has a bigger draw than my Razan to me.For the grommet, I'd recommend not shaving it down. Just put some non-toxic grease on the grommet. You could even use chapstick. Don't use too much grease. You don't want to taste it while you are smoking. That's what has worked for me. newjacksm
I let it acclimate over night and smoked it again tonight, it was harsh took off a coal then there wasnt any thick smoke put it back on at times it was harsh to the point you cough. And at times you taste more of the tabaco then the blue gumball.I guess im gonna let it sit in the tupperware again over night again tonightHowever the watermelon smoked like a champ as did the whitepeach.
