TomBrone
Hello all,This is my first post, so maybe I should start with introducing myself. My name is Tom, and I've been smoking for a couple of months now. The best hookah I ever smoked was in Turkey, about a year ago. I bought a hookah there, and used it from time to time. But for a couple of months now, I've been smoking more and more, and I'm becoming better in setting up my hookah.I live in Belgium, so my English is very poor, I'm sorry for that. Here in Belgium I can only find Nakhla shisha. I bought a new hookah (I don't know what brand it is, the only thing it says on the box is Super Hooka). It smokes really good, but I want even more smoke. So my question is, wich shisha produces the biggest clouds? I know heat management and other stuff has a lot to do with it, but I want strong taste and big white clouds, just like I had in Turkey.Btw, what is the best online place to buy shisha in Europe?Any help would be appreciated,Thanks,Tom
momatik
Welcome buddy,You're English isn't bad at all. So don't be sorry!Thing is Nakhla is hard to get huge clouds, unless you want to burn the stuff.Honestly in my experience, you'll get good clouds from AF (Al Fakher) tobacco. It's not too expensive and it has great flavor. My recommendations for flavors are:-Grape-Cinnamon-Apple-OrangeAlso, if you are willing to shed the extra bucks, Starbuzz produces a buttload of smoke. And it is pretty easy to pack. I know some guys may not agree in this forum, but it is my experience with starbuzz that you will get huge clouds. Go with blue mist if you do get any starbuzz.Starbuzz however, doesn't have the strongest taste. The taste is absolutely there, but it's more subtle than Nakhla. All of these shishas I have recommended are washed. So it won't give you as big of a buzz as Nakhla tobacco does either. Some guys here may recommend Tangiers, and I didn't because I don't have any experience with the stuff, but supposedly you get pretty good sized clouds and a lot of taste from it.Good luck! It is relatively cheap and pretty good quality. I'd also like to add watermelon to that list, and if you want to mix flavors, vanilla is a great AF flavor to mix with pretty much anything else. Oh, and your english is great too, probably better than the some of the posters on here.
aleemkahn
Hi Tom, i'm in Europe, United Kingdom to be exact. I would just like to say welcome to this great forum. Its great to have more european people joining this forum. Anyway, my recommendation to you is that you buy Al Fakher shisha, as it produces some huge smoke clouds and tastes great too. In my opinion, Nakhla is for those who enjoy the 'buzz' more. You can find lots of online shops in the UK that sell Al Fakher and they will ship to you. www.theshishahouse.co.uk is one of those websites. I recommend mint, grape and strawberry for starting. Also, you can modify your Nakhla to produce more smoke, by adding Glycerine to it. Glycerine can be bought from your local Chemist/Pharmacy, and is very cheap. Add around a one teaspoon of Glycerine per 25g and mix it well. Hope this helps
vaypourus
Tom-As much as it depresses me to say, your English is far better than many of the people I meet here in the US. Take that as a compliment.I would also suggest Al Fakher if you are in search of big, fluffy clouds. It's relatively inexpensive, should be easy to find in Europe, has many great flavors, and really smokes well even over long periods of time. It is probably tied for first as my favorite shisha (Tangier's is also pretty awesome, but probably not readily available in your area of the globe). You should talk to Johnny D; he is a moderator here located in the UK. He might be able to help you locate AF if you have a hard time finding it-

gaia.plateau
Put a layer of El Nahkla on the bottom, line the sides tightly with Tangiers, and fill with Al Fakher.Edit: I sort of scanned your post to begin with, upon rereading I noted that you consider your English 'very poor'... Tom, your typed English is better than that of the majority of the English speakers on this forum Welcome. rigor
Welcome TomBrone!I strongly agree with what the other posters have stated. I think you'll see much improved results on both flavor and clouds from AF (Al Fahker) or SB (StarBuzz). While Nakhla isn't a bad tobacco by any means (packs a good buzz), in my experiences so far, it's not as easy and/or just doesn't have quite as much flavor or clouds as a more saturated shisha like AF or SB. For AF, definitely pick up some Mint, as it's fantastic. The AF Plum is very good as well. You type great English by the way!Happy Smoking

hookah hippie
Welcome I would suggest trying Al Fahker and Al Waha two good choices and are worth the money
rigor
Yeah definitely pick up a phunnel bowl! More flavor and clouds. A small one is adequate enough for like 1-3 people and about an hour or so long session, depending of course on the shisha and coals. I don't even really bother with my Egyptian bowl now, except for when smoking Nakhla.
chinamon
im smoking AF grape with my tangiers phunnel with mod right now and im getting clouds thicker than a rain storm.
Bulldog_916
I have no idea what you guys are talking about when you say Nakhla doesnt give great clouds. I dont think you're using enough heat. The stuff can take heat like no other. I was getting booming clouds from my Melon when I added the right amount of heat. It was still flavorful, awesome shisha. I'm just pointing out that the juiciness of the tobacco isnt always a good indicator of the clouds it will give. There are exceptions to the rule. Stuie
I have been getting great clouds lately from Romman, Nakhla, Fumari, Tonic, AF, and Fantasia. The ones with red dye get a little more smoke...burning red dye does that.

Nakhla produces excellent clouds and it can definitely handle the heat. Nakhla was my first hookah tobacco ever smoked and it has been the most consistent (over the years) compared to a lot of brands on the market today. TomBrone
Tomorrow there is a party of a friend of mine, and he asked me to bring along my hookah. There will be two other people with hookahs, and I've heard they are about the same size as mine is.But.. I want the biggest clouds and most taste , so I have some last questions. - Should I use two layers of alumium foil (I've read this somewhere)? I don't know if you have the same problem, but after a smoking session, when I take out the tobacco, it always is competely black and I can crumble it between my fingers. Is this normal? Sometimes only the upper part is black, and the tobacco underneath it still moist.- I have a rather big Egyptian bowl, can I mix in some glycerine or honey?- I have almost all of the nakhla flavors, wich one do you like best at parties? (Multi-fruit?)Thanks alot for all your help!Tom
EternalSoil
Tom, one thing is, dont go over there and try and one up other people. just have fun! and as far as mixing glycerine or honey in, i wouldnt unless it's really dry. I would take some of your favorite flavors over and let people pick. then just do what you normally do as far as setup. I have to tweak my setup a bit because other people think it is way too harsh when i set up like i smoke, i have to be careful.
