Hi, Just Got My First Hookah.

Well, I went down to a local smoke shop, and bought my very first hookah. I dont think it has a brand to it, so i had a few questions before I start buying "after market" accesories.

First of all, the hookah has two hoses. And when i wash them out after a session i notice the water is brown/black and has like..particles in it. Its starting to go away but for maybe the first 2-3 sessions it was strong in color. Just wanted to know if this was normal? I searched around and people say with the Namoor hoses black/purple substance comes out. And it tastes like plastic.

Second, I wanted to know if I would be able to put a Phunnel bowl and a KM/Namoor hose on my hookah. It originally came with two of those washable hoses, and a clay bowl. I wouldnt want to go and buy those things and come to find out i cant use them.

If it's not a "washable" hose you shouldn't be running water thru it.

but typically i would say yes, a phunnel and namoor/km/razan hose will work with most anything

be careful though, some "washable" hoses aren't really washable - ie. most KM washables.

Also, to get rid of the plastic smell in a namoor or razan, put your thumb on one end and put lemonjuice & water in the other and sift it thoroughly. Mouthwash works well as well, but make sure you flush it well with water to get the taste out.

Well if black/brown particles are coming out when you run water through it, you may wanna double check if they are washable or not. The hose may have a metal coil for wrapped inside that will rust fast after washing it.

A nammor/razan/km hose should fit no problem. May just use a different gasket that the hoses you have now. And as long as you hookah uses a female style bowl then the phunnel bowl will work as well.

how would i go upon checking if the hose is actually washable without going to the shop to ask? cause when i went there they said that mines was the last one, and they took it off of their display case.

Ok, Just took a few pics and their uploading right now. Now that you guys mentioned it, I tried pinching down on my hoses, and i do feel something stiff in there.

But the thing is, when i first got the hookah, it always felt like i was tasting the coals, even if the coals were just lit where they were barely even ashing yet. I guess they were non washable hoses...does this mean that my hoses are already un-usable?

Okay, I'm pretty sure that's an Inhale brand hookah. I'm 99% sure that the hoses are NOT washable.

No it doesnt. Around the lip of the vase theres a rubber O-ring. To hold the stem in place, so you just slide the stem on. tightly

Yeah the phunnel and km/namoor/razan should work fine. You should consider getting a new tray though - once you get the new bowl, if your coals happen to fall for whatever reason, you're going to burn your carpet a lot with what you have.

Well just finished the order a few hours ago.

I bought a black Nammor Hose, a black washable hose, 250g of Fantasia Pumpkin Spice, and 250g of Starbuzz X On The Beach. Ill hold off on the Phunnel Bowl for a few weeks, since I just got my hookah last week, and i needed new hoses and another stash of shisha.

Can you guys believe 100g of Starbuzz down here in hawaii is $30?

There isnt even anywhere that I know of that sells Fantasia. From my knowledge the shops down here only carry Starbuzz and Al Waha
