newjacksm
Im getting harshness with my tangiers. I let it acclimate on the tinfoil for about 5 hours I did exactly what the topic said on how to acclimate tangiers on the tinfoil. Im guessing I didnt acclimate it enough. And then I let it sit overnight in a tupperwar jar overnight and shook it around in the morning and let it sit for anohter hour. Its still harsh but not as harsh.Do I still have to let it acclimate or am I doing something wrong. I watched the video, and I made the rings just like that. I used 1 40mm coal cut in half and im getting harshness.... I am also using a Tangiers Small Phunnel Bowl.Helpp?

I never packed a lot to begin with. I stopped getting pack happy all my other packings have been great so far and heat managing skills.Ill try another foil, but keep the posts coming Edited September 15, 2008 by newjacksm
Bulldog_916
Less heat. I dunno how much you're putting on there, but it sounds like too much. Normally on a small phunnel, 2 pieces of coconut coal are enough to get the clouds going. The tickle in the back of the throat means you havent acclimated enough. The harshness is a result of too much heat. Reduce the heat and you'll be smoking happy in no time.

MechAnt
For a small phunnel bowl, two halves of a 40mm is a little too much. Try reducing the heat a little more or spread it out more.
Tom1
Were you stirring it often when it was in the tupperware? If not that could be it. Usually I'll set it out on a big sheet of foil and spread it evenly so it has more air contact.
newjacksm
So I let it sit again while I was at class the weird smell is leaving while the flavor smell is staying. Im going to let it sit for a little while longer.
EternalSoil
you probably need MORE tobacco. if its "harsh" like too hot then its heat. If its a tickle or hurt kinda in the back of your throat you need more tobacco.also, that different smell is probably the tobacco smell.

Got a little buzz in the begining but not that buzz that everyone is talking about. I think Ill wait till I buy some Coconaras. Which will be sometime soon.
