ahadden
So I just got an MZ safari from gothookahs.com about 3 weeks ago and have been smoking it ever since without a problem. But last night I tried smoking and wasn't getting any smoke; plenty of air, but no smoke. I checked all the connections and places for air leaks and the only problem I could find was in the purge valve. From the day I got the hookah I noticed what looked like a weird weld causeing extra metal (brass? Copper?) in the purge valve, but since it was smoking fine for the past few weeks I thought notihng of it. Until tonight when for whatever reason the valve decided not to seal. My question is, can I somehow get rid of this hunk of metal easily without destroying my hookah? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Here are some pics. ahadden
Here is another pic that shows the BB sitting precariously in there. I think the reason it doesn't always seal is because the screw on portion of the valve pushes the BB up onto the extra metal part, causing an air leak. Stuie
there are some metal shaping files at local hardware stores. that are small and round... $1-2 dollars each. Take a little work but it would do it. Might try a drill, but since it's not uniform where you need it drilled it could bounce around and cause more damage. Also switch out the BB with Airsoft Plastic BBs I do that on my purges and on my safari when it gets here Monday.
indian_villager
If you or a friend of yours have a dremel tool you could probably use the conical tip one to grind it down.

EternalSoil
any of the above should work fine... its all inside so you are not going to do any cosmetic damage.
*Veritas*
definitely use a Dremel Tool with a small Shaping tool. Just take your time and make it all uniform.
