Brass Syrian Nour Bought From Eric

Recommended Posts

here's the Nour i bought from Eric when i was in San Diego in August. now that my computer is fixed, i can post these pictures.

i've never seen a hookah so beautiful in my life

as soon as i saw this vase, i knew i had to have it. i love the light blue glass, flower design, and how the base is so wide.

this is some amazing detail on this shank

[attachment=2215:nour_shank.jpg]
[attachment=2216:nour_heart.jpg]

it pulls easily, and purges easily, which was a requirement for me. it's not as easy of a purge or pull as the KM, but it's good - very, very good.

the tray and hose are next

now for the tray. more flower designs that match the vase very well.

the male part of the top of the shank screws on so that it secures the tray so that it doesn't move and so that juices can't drip down onto the rest of the shank or the vase. i love that.

this hose tip is wooden and the opening is really wide allowing for maximum air flow.
i like how the tip of it is blunt instead of sharper like most other hose tips. really nice feel.

it was the tip for the hose that was originally packaged with the hookah and Eric pulled off the little metal part that was on the end of it, making the opening really wide. i actually got that idea from him. he did it first and i loved the idea. so when we picked out a hose to go with it, he stuck that on the end of it. it fits perfectly and smokes great.

Thanks, Eric. i love this hookah and i smoke out of it every day. it's definitely the best hookah-related purchase i have ever made.

(that's all for tonight. more pics to come!)

Very nice, love the base but man you have to put a gallon of water in there and you run out of air space. But man as long as it smoke good...Stellar hookah!

Very nice, nour's have a very flashy look to them, in a subtle way (as confusing as that sounds).

you mean they are classy ? lol

+1 that thing sticks out, but in a subtle way. I like it, very nice purchase

more pix

here's what i was talking about how the tray is affixed to the shank

[attachment=2241:nour_tray_4.jpg]
[attachment=2242:nour_tray_3.jpg]

and here's a closer look at the hose tip

[attachment=2243:nour_hose_tip_1.jpg]
[attachment=2244:nour_hose_tip_2.jpg]

see how the opening is really wide. i love that. notice how the part of the tip that comes in contact with the smoker's mouth is sanded down to get the lacquer off.

nice buy. how tall is it? and how much did it set ya back?

thanks.

here are the dimesions:
the whole thing without a bowl stands about 33 inches tall
the shank from end to end is 22.5 inches
the downstem goes down 7 inches from the bottom of the heart
the vase is about 15 inches

i don't really remember the price. my wife got it for me as a 24th birthday present.

it's not as much water as it looks like. and the less air space in the vase, the better or thick smoke. as long as no water can make it to the hose. and yeah, it smokes really, really good. a diffuser helps with the high reach of the bubbles. it also cuts down on noise, but the great thing i love about ALL Syrian hookahs is that since the downstem is more narrow, it is a lot more quiet. it's just a really satisfying purr and it's great.

That is a gorgeous hookah man! I have the Nour from hookahcompany on the way and now I'm even more excited.

I think this is the hose you have, or at least it looks very similar. I might have to get one and take the tip out like you said.

http://hookahcompany.com/omar_egyptian_hose_3352_prd1.htm

yup. that's the hose. and as i mentioned above, be sure to sand it down a little. using the rough side of a scrubbing sponge should work well. and pulling out the metal tip shouldn't be too hard, either. Eric just used a pair of pliers.

i got the same base for my nour too tongue.gif

very nice bowman!

i appreciate it. yeah, that vase is PHAT, yo! i have no idea where he got it from but as far as i know, you can't buy it online.

Beautiful pipe man!

I see you love it like I love mine.

i was so close to getting one similar to the one you got. Eric had some of those up at his store that i really liked. that tray is OUT OF CONTROL!! i have never seen such detail on any other tray ever. very nice.

thanks for all the comments, everyone.
everyone who has a Nour already: congrats.
they are great and i think everyone should at least smoke out of one if ever given the chance.

two more smoking pics

here's me with my puppy, Lacey. she's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and she's trying to go to sleep in these pics

[attachment=2288:Bowman_a...h_nour_1.jpg]

[attachment=2289:Bowman_a...h_nour_2.jpg]

i had to post these two because this is the first time i have smoked out of the complete setup i bought from Eric. i had the large phunnel stashed away because i never had time for a 6-hour session until now.
Tangiers Bramble Berry. the last of it. it only smokes well for me in the large phunnel. fantastic.
