So I smoked with this bowl last night after my modifications and it is awesome. Great for a smaller session. My only complaint is that it takes a little bit longer to heat up than the original phunnel bowls.

What did you use to file it down?

I used a grinding stone. You can just use a dremel or an air compressor if you have one. I wouldn't wanna try to do it by hand.

Got two of the Chinese ones today, the blue one seems to smoke fine, saving the black one as a back up, (my 4 year old broke my first one).
(Got all this stuff for $36 bucks too!!!).

Used my real camera to take these for comparison to OP. I think the quality of the Chinese funnels is getting better.

Looks pretty smooth on the inside. If they come out with a tiny version before Eric comes out with one, I might just pick one up. Here's to hoping Eric comes through first.
