Royal Oak Natural Wood Coals

Recommended Posts

I don't wanna spend so much money on coco naras anymore so i was thinking about switching to these Royal Oak wood coals. The information says " This is the purest charcoal available with 100% hardwood char and nothing added. This fastburn charcoal will burn extremely hot at temperatures, between 800 degrees and 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, while briquettes only reach about 650 degrees Fahrenheit. Great for open pit cooking! " Anyone ever give them a try? Should i?

that sounds like they would burn too hot... if you're looking for a cheap coal thats pretty good i would go with the easy light's.. the silver ones you have to break off of little sticks. Those are pretty good as long as you make sure the silver shit is off.

"use Royal Oak during the summers to bbq. After we eat I always grap my hookah and some coals from the bbq. Works great.

Only Hard woods should be used for smoking foods because soft woods have nasty shit in it."

try them, but yeah they do sound that they might burn too hot. but be a bit cautious though when just starting to smoke using them.... i tried smoking my no brand lump charcoal and i took about 5 puffs back to back then waited to see if i felt anything... but they turned out to be perfectly safe for hookah.

I actually have used them for hookah, They work just fine, the biggest issues are concentrating the heat over the tobacco, and keeping the coal itself lit for more then 5 minutes. Other then that they work great!
