NickReppinThe909
im looking at close to $300 for 2 tires that includes:BT45 front $87.65BT45 rear $102.35Front tube $11.95Rear tube $13.05mounting front $25mounting rear $25tax 7.75% (too lazy to calculate but im guessing about $5)a little outrageous yes, but remember the worst thing that can go wrong for a motorcyclist (other than moron drivers) is to cut down a tire while riding so it is all justifiableand the worst most fucking retarded charge of them allCA tire recycling fee $5 PER TIREand i keep the tires and i still have to pay the fucking fee for it/rantnow you may ask the actual purpose of this thread ?its an open rant (try to keep it civilized) for all fellow motorcyclists to complain about how much more the parts are for something with half the wheels and no doors. if you have complaints about car part prices then feel free to post also but specify that it is a carand like nubbs says4 wheels moves a body, 2 wheels move the soul

Victim026
Lol, $300 for tires isn't that much, you've got to remember that these 2(or 4) things are your only true connection to the road. Who gives a damn if you've got the biggest engine or the most expensive car on the planet, if you don't have good tires, and aren't willing to invest the money in them then your gonna lose it all eventually anyways. Plus the BFG Mud Terrains on my Tundra are almost $350 each, now that's something to be upset about.4 wheels moves a body, 2 wheels moves a soul... except when your in 3 feet of mud, then 4 wheels are a must.... Snacks
However, fact is, a motorcycle is for you enjoyment. A car is more convenient, a bicykle makes the most sense, so does the buss. I do feel your pain at wasting money but still, your joy, your money.
SimplexCoda
I dont have a complaint about prices i have a complaint about the way my bike is running right now. When i first start it and let it run for a minute. It will just crawl. (yes i have it and 1st gear, and yes i have checked all the gears) I have to have it revved way higher than i should have to have it to get it goin any where. But once it hits about 35ish it runs like normal. Even if i come to a complete stop and then go it run like it should always and used to always run. It used to not do this. It just started like a month ago max. At first i thought maybe i need to have my carb adjusted, but i think that if that were the case it would either do it through the whole rpm band or if it were going to do that in my lower gears only it would do it everytime i was in those gears. I just am baffled about what it is. And i wont take it to a shop cause they rape you on labor at shops. I dunno i know some people woh work on their bikes and i will ask them. If nubbs gets on he might know. My bike is a 98 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 if that helps.

EternalSoil
Yeah tires can be a bitch on bikes... i think i paid about the same for the two of mine (different times). My dad is having to get a new front on his 98 shadow aero. its the whitewall one so its like 30 bucks more just for that!my bike is a 03 suzuki sv-650s. i need to get a new front sproket and chain (i have a rear that needs to be put on as well). debating on whether or not i wanna try and tackle that shit myself. i think i'll probably have a local shop do it just so i dont fuck anything up. Specifically your pilot jets, the pilot jets are what tell your bike to idol at, after revving up your main jets take over which explains your problem. I know you dont want to take it to a shop, but if it has a lot of miles or has been sitting its probably due for a tune up as well, unless you are mechanical. That way they can service your bike and sync your carbs.Hope this helps you out!
bikeAholic
Yeah, they can get damn expensive but to be honest, it's worth it. I wouldn't be the first one to put my neck out and buy $50 tires off some Huffy wannabe. I rather lay down the money than lay down my life. JK!! Chains are pretty easy, I could give you an easy lesson. Do the rear sprocket first cuz u need to take the real wheel off [but put it back on after], front sprocket you dont need to take off the chain at all, then use an angle grinder to get a link off and use the "c" shaped link to hook the new chain and pull the new chain on with the old one. If you need more help or more detail just PM me.
