Man, what bad luck. Do you lock the stuff up when it's not in use? Maybe start keeping it in a closet. Or just keep the dog in the closet. Or eat it. With ketchup. On a bun.

After punting the dog, you should put it in the cage if its not trained to not eat things.
When my dog was a puppy, she was confined to the kitchen area when we were out. But free to roam when we were home.
She eventually gave up on chewing on things after eating a bottle of tabasco sauce...

why was your hookah in the cage with the dog then?

i know our dogs dont like the smell of the smoke when you blow it at them... so when i do occasionally smoke when they are around they mostly stay away from the hookah.

if it's a puppy it will probably grow out of its chewing stage anyways. until then keep hookah up high.

My roommate's dog (a yellow lab puppy) has eaten practically everything in the house, but one thing he never seemed to touch was the hookah. Some nights, we'd leave it sitting out on the coffee table, hose and everything... We'd wake up, and everything around it would be chewed to shreds (DVD cases, remotes, Xbox controllers, shoes, plants, a $500 retainer that I'm supposed to wear at night, etc), but the hookah itself would be just fine.

Then one night, we figured we should stop risking it, so we put it up on the corner table between couches, which is a bit higher up than the coffee table. When we got home a bit later, we saw that the dog had walked up on to the corner table to eat the cactus we had up there (yes, seriously), and in the process, he nosed the hookah off, spilling water, ash from the tray and everything. Luckily, the only damage was a small dent in the down stem... Thank god for Egyptian durability. I was still pissed though.

Needless to say, we keep the hookah up very high now.

I had a little shit dog like that once and it chewed my guitar cable that costed me 50 dollars. Lets just say 3 months later our family gave the dog away
