bradleyclark86
So I got my vortex bowl in the mail the other day and it's amazing. Definitely a great investment. But I am having some problems with getting the right amount of heat. I made a ring of holes around the edge of the foil and then I break up a couple coals and put them around the edge. Too many coals = harsh smoke, too few = thin smoke. So I thought about the following set up...[attachment=2295:bowl.jpg]This would leave the coal in one piece and placed in the middle. I'm using 3 Kings coal. They're quite large (about 40mm in diameter) so it would cover a lot of area. Just wanted to get input from the senior smokers. pullingteeth
never tried that...i'd recommend just breaking them in half and keeping them to the outside personally. but i guess i've never actually tried that. almost anythings worth a shot once i suppose. lol
Stuie
Well the coals will die off pretty fast if you don't flip it. Needs air flow under it. I use to do that a long time to go. If you don't move it around a lot, you will end up wasting a bunch of shisha.
Guest DJ_HOSSEIX
i have tried that set up many times on my portable hookah. Make a lot of small holes and place the coil in the middle. Smoked great for when i did it, not a bit of harshness either. I too used 3 kings.EDIT: i used AF shisha (if that makes any difference to you) Edited September 22, 2008 by DJ_HOSSEIX
