Capt. Morgan
Considering getting my lip pierced. I'm pretty sure a few of you on here have them. Just wondering how long I would want to hold off on the hookah while it heals? Not worried about cigs since I quit those a few months back. Giant Ninja Robot
Actually I want to know this too, thanks for the post Captain.I'm considering getting my labret done and never even thought that it would potentially affect smoking during the healing process. Spotless
ive had my lip pierced for a good 4 1/2 years and i never had a problem with smoking not during healing or now
Capt. Morgan
Heard that smoking cigs while you have a healing oral piercing can up the chances for infection and slow down the healing process so I'm a little curious.
Spotless
never had an infection with any of piercings and ive done all of them myself; it healed nicely you just have to remember not to play with it for the first few months and clean it 2-3 times a day; thats about it
Giant Ninja Robot
Now I'm slightly concerned. My eyebrow took forever to heal up and was infected on and off for months. I think it was due to my job as a housepainter at the time, being exposed to all that dust and plaster and whatnot, but concerned nonetheless, thanks for the vote of confidence though Spot. SuspenCe
I don't think smoking effects it as much as you would think.I have my tongue pierced and I decided to wait for my own caution and health risks just to make sure I would okay, I waited about a week and I was fine after that, but I have friends who smoke the minute after they get an oral piercing done ( Tongue, Lip, Nose etc. ) and it didn't affect them at all. So it's pretty much your choice to smoke or not, if you worried... don't do it, if your not cautious, have fun and go for it.
