A Near Disaster

Was smoking tonight out at some of my friends' place. Out on the back porch about 20 minutes into the session, looked over to say something to one of my buddies and another guy somehow managed to knock over my hookah. Pissed me off since I had only had this one for about 2 weeks Bowl went flying and I almost freaked out. fortunately the funnel and the base survived. I didn't have to kill anyone tonight.

shit happens when you smoke in groups, my base and bowl has managed to survive 2 knock overs...

Yeah last night one of my friends was over and decided to take a "big" hit (which for him is about as much as i can get through my nose) and he leaned back in the chair and decided to bring the hose with him until the damn coals fell off and almost burned his ass. That would have taught him a lesson or two. Luckily I caught the hookah before it could go crashing everywhere.

True. I didn't see it but apparently the guys foot slipped off of the table he had his feed propped on on or the table slid but he managed to kick it over. He wasn't even smoking, he was just hanging out.

Yup, the more people you have, the more likely something gets knocked over... sad fact of hookah.

ya i had a tip over the other night cause my friends were sitting to far away while watching a movie, still need to borrow a dirt devil to get the ash out of my carpet

this procedure being layed out at the start of group sessions tends to avoid knock overs

I was transporting my hookah to a friends house. and my buddy (who actually owns a hookah and knows how to hold it) grabbed the hookah by its stem and the base shattered all over the cement.

And, he then was forced to drive to the Hookah Lounge and by me a knew one, on the spot.

This does happen when you smoke with a bunch of people, mostly a bunch of people who do not smoke hookah on the daily.

Ive noticed it happens alot when someone says something funny and the person holding the hose leans back with it to laugh and jerks the hookah.

We had 4-5 coal burns in our carpet (giant ass 20x20 throw rug but carpet texture) last year in my dorm from people knocking the coal over. We threw the carpet out since it was basically one time use and was completely trashed by the end of the year Edited September 25, 2008 by surface

The only time we have had a knock over was about a year ago, when my buddy decided to drag his girlfriend across the floor. She sprawled out, and kicked it it over. Left two nice burn spots in their non-smoking apartment. Didn't hurt the pipe though, I was able to snag it before it hit the deck.
