ChexPex
Hey guys just joined the KM club with a beautiful blue copper trimetalAnyways i also purchased a red nammor hose and its having problems...I believe there is a leak but i hold one end and blow out the other and i dont find any leaks.... However but i seal it the hookah(which is pretty hard tight seal) and when i blew really light to see if any bubbles come through, i dont get any reaction or anything. I have to take a pretty hard pull for the first 2-3 seconds before i can actually get some bubbles coming through.. Any tips or suggestions?I have used my KM hose and it has worked fine so im positive its just the nammor hose... also by the way when im smoking my hookah (this is my first hookah sry :/) i get some water into my hose... does this just mean im adding too much water to the base? Click
Well, if you plug an end of the nammor and blow into to other. You shouldn't be able to "blow" because there would be no where for the air to go.Fill up the water so the downstem is an inch to inch 1/2 submerged into the water. ChexPex
ok guys.. im in a session now and i realize the nammor hose makes like a leaking sound towards the end of the hose (where it attaches to the stem).... maybe i should cut the hose partialy and just re attach the end harder? Voski
Maybe the leak is coming from where u connect it to your hookah. Get smoke in the chamber and clear it. When your clearing it you should see any leaks from there.
the_cool
Do you have a grommet connecting the hose to the stem? It might not be a tight seal at that point. Try wrapping a strip of tissue around the end of the hose (the bit that you connect to the stem) and see it if works

indian_villager
QUOTE (Riz1 @ Sep 24 2008, 12:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>nice KM now where did you purchase it from...i thought those are all sold outUseless thread jack. Now back to business. Try this. Put your thumb over the part of the hose where it attaches to the hookah. Now from the mouth tip suck in hard to generate negative pressure in the hose body. If you feel the pressure equalizing to atmospheric pressure (as in not much force in your mouth or on the thumb) fairly rapidly you may have a leak in the hose. But it the pressure equalizes slowly you may just have a very small leak or you didn't seal well enough with your thumb. If You actually do have a serious leak don't worry. This issue can easily be fixed with hot glue!If it is just the grommet put the grommet onto the hose tip and then ram the hose tip/grommet assembly into the hose port on your pipe!Good luck Hope this helps. ChexPex
k i looked... and there is no grommet from the end of the hose to the stem... i believe there isnt a tight enough seal from the end of the hose (the acryllic part) to the hose itself.. any sugggestions? cut off a piece of hose and re attaack tigheter? jezter6
Wait - there's no grommet on your hose port?Interesting - your hookah didn't come with any? Your hose didn't come with one?Strange...You could wrap the end of the hose in electrical tape until you can find a suitable grommet...

indian_villager
Dont mess up the tip of your pipe with electrical tape. Wrap the tip with wet paper towel and ram it in there!
