indian_villager
From the looks of the back you may need a Y splitter and hook into the TRS inputs! But don't hold me to it. I don't know shit about high end audio. Its just from a quick look of the back pannel! Edited September 25, 2008 by indian_villager
MechAnt
Those are ehhh for high end speakers.I HIGHLY recommend the Audioengine A2's. They are only $200 and out class speakers that are priced well over $1000. All the review sites love em. Get them.

I thought the m-audio ones were really good cus I read the review on the AV 40's and these were even better so I thought they would be worth it. I found them for $165 brand new so I was gonna pick them up. Have you had experience with both of them?

MechAnt
The Audioengines do have a 3.5mm jack which the M-Audio uses a 1/4" which will require you to buy a converter that will let it be used as a 3.5mm. With high quality speakers like the M-Audios or the Audioengines, you will need a DAC (Digital Audio Converter) otherwise they will plain sound like shit. There are good brands such as FUBAR III or E-MU (E-MU makes the 0404 USB which is probably as cheap as you want to go other than making your own ). A big thing you have to take into consideration is the size of the speakers. The M-Audios are designed as bookshelf speakers so they are rather large as opposed to the Audioengines which are pretty compact in size.
