Sausager
Hi!I bought nice hookah from my holiday trip couple months ago and have smoked that almost every evening. That have worked fine and I've got really big and thich smokes from it. But now I ordered more tobacco and charcoals and tried to smoke again> Just thin and bad taste smoke? I have tried many and many times again but always same results. Even I have done everything like before!?Charcoals are quick lighting style and same mark as I bought from holiday.. Tobacco is also same kind of from Nakhla.I thinked problem would be leaking seals somewhere but no! I tested for leaks pressing my fingers on bowl connection and one way valves ball and press 1bar preassure from hose connection with compressor and it keeps pressure inside.I dont have anymore ideas where the problem would be?Anyone got same problem?Smoke is just so lame and thin. Sorry my bad english but I hope someone could understand me
ToncSTAR
do you have a stem cleaner? maybe old, crusty shisha went into the stem if you havent cleaned it. this happened to my first hookah a couple times. when i used the brush, alot of black gunk came out, after that, it smoked like a champ again. modisess
have you let the charcoal start to ash abit before putting them on the bowl?are you sure you have packed your bowl correctly?or probably you aren't heating the tobacco well enough.. just some things to check out.p.s. quicklite charcoals suck, go natural.. Sausager
Yeah I let it ash a little bit first but is it possible that charcoal is some bad quality? I think that those was glowing heat more before!? Even I got same charcoals? (Golden river is mark) Edited September 26, 2008 by Sausager

If its true that you're doing EVERYTHING the same- setting up the bowl, heat management, same tobacco, etc.. then really the only variable is the coals. It is very possible you've gotten a bad batch.I'd go for a different brand than Golden River, just to try something else that may work out better for ya. storm2210
The problem is obvious here; you've got a bad batch of coals. This has happnened to me many times (as I am buying 2 coal boxes every week)Just go out and buy somemore, try and go to a different store as the one you originally went to may have got a bad batch from their supplier. Mayby it's some bad batch. It's really hard to get hookah staff from here Finland so it is hard to try with other coals.I was thinking now how much one way valve need to leak to get smoke thin? My one way valve ball is'nt make from stainless steel and it get rusted when I was waiting my order. I polished ball and housing before smoking with polishing paste and now they are clean and shiny. Now when I have tried to smoke hookah I press the ball a little bit with needle and blow in hose:It is sometimes leaking a littlelittle bit behind of ball but isn't that dangerous? Tikhman
What country are you in? It doesn't sound like you're in the US. If you're in Europe, then places like germany have limits on how much glycerol goes into the tobacco. less glycerol=less smoke. And nakhla is dryer to begin with. Bulldog_916
Pack it in a little more. Add more heat. It sounds like you may only be using 1 quicklight. That isnt enough for nakhla, shit is a heat sink. I get booming clouds from nakhla 90% of the time. You gotta use more heat. 3 1/2s of the quicklights should get you smokin. Codename067
Do try to increase the number of coals on your bowl. I dont know about 3.5 quicklites, seems a little too much for the rather dry Nakhla..so keep trying..trial and error will eventually turn into great sessions. skatesteak
havent had a chance to try nakhalla yet but if it is dry it will produce less smoke and i found out thru trial and error the perfect amount of coals on a bowl. sometimes it takes more than you think to get good smoke but make sure to keep moving the coals around to evenly heat and not burn the shisha

This is why I hate forum numbering, it doesnt make the 1/2 into a smaller number, lol.
