New Hookah Question

been smoking other peoples hookah for a while and decided to get my own.
are you supposed to wash new hookahs before you use them?
I just used it with two different flavors of tobacco and they both had a plastic taste to it, barely any flavor.
I thought it might be because the hookah is new and has the factory smell?

yeah you should definitely wash them before you use them, that plastic taste was your hose. dont use soap when you wash them just run some warm water through it thats usually what i do

dont run water through your hose unless its a washable hose though or else it will rust out and you will get a nasty flavor and chunks of rust

what hookah did you get?

should wash it first and just blow through the hose when its not connected. dont run water through it unless it's washable

and to add to what has already been said...
the only truly washable hose is the Nammor and Razan

other hoses say that they are washable, like the "washable mya" hoses, and the "washable KM" but this is incorrect. they have metal inside them

about the taste, my Nammor hose had this horrible plastic-like taste for the longest time that no washing could take away. it just took time for the taste to go away
