PipeSmokeMcGee
howdy all, I have heard that adding milk to the vase thickens the smoke and makes it "taste" creamier. I tried this the other day with about 1/2 milk and 1/2 water, and it bubbled like a McGrath and came into the hose. Is there a certain ratio that you've got to hit in order to not get screwed? Also, I used skim milk... is this OK?
Donkeema
yeh...only add a slight bit of milk that is diluted alot in the base with water so it does not froth up into your pipe. any type of milk is fine
Donkeema
try about a 70 : 30 ratio ...
yashman19
I just had a thought. People have thought about using different types of milks such as coconut, but maybe you should try using Lactaid Free milk. It could work. Just get the thinner fat free kind, and you probably wouldn't even have to dilute it too much. Just an idea, no personal experience from it. pavlakos_politakos
i actually tried it the other day as well.it was mostly milk and barely any milk.it wouldve been 100% milk but it ran out.so to fill the rest i had to add a little water.it tasted kinda funky.a bit TOO creamy.i was definently getting more smoke(there was ice too) but it tasted...wierd.i guess ill have to try it with less. pavlakos_politakos
most of it was milk and very little water.sorry about the confusion.
PipeSmokeMcGee
mostly milk and it didn't bubble? the one time that i tried this before i had probably about 80% water and 20% skim milk and it bubbled like CRAZY! i wonder if the skim (fat free) milk makes a difference. we need someone to explain the chemical composition and tendencies of skim milk. lets see... TANGIERS!
pavlakos_politakos
why tangiers? ill explain it better.PSYCH!!!tang where are you bro?
Sonthert
What? I was avoiding this thread, because it involved adding something to the vase, other than plain water. It depends on the down tube of your hookah. Syrian pipes with their short leads, will probably make less bubbles. Egyptian pipes with their much longer leads will make more turbulence and hence more bubbles. I don't think milk fat has anything to do with it.
Seandoo
So if you were to have an atomizer/diffuser maybe it would cut back on turbulence in the base as well?
