teox
cant seem to get it to smoke well.set up: mya qt, regular bowl (waiting on funnel), silver square coals, packed it tighti acclimated by leaving it spread out on the counter overnight, then packed it relatively tight for the bowl like i heard people say you should.it was harsh and didnt smoke smoothly nor did it get thick like ive seen others.any ideas on how to make tangiers work without a funnel? not sure if i gave enough info about my set up let me know Edited October 1, 2008 by teox
Codename067
It is harder to regulate heat with Tangiers on a standard bowl..but it sure isnt impossible.Try t pack it less tightly next time, and keep the coals moving towards the beginning of the session. SuburbanSmoker
Gotta keep the coals moving. Ive noticed when i get lazy and leave em in the same spot for a while it starts to hit hard...almost like a cigar would. also keep in mind to keep the coals on the edge to heat the bowl rather then the tobacco. Just what works for me in a standard/.
Tuscani
strange, I got my kashi peach tangier before work yesterday, and I put it all in a bowl, mixxed it around and immediatly packed a bowl.... no soy sauce flavor or burned rubber, just sweet peaches. Smoked that bowl for almost 6 hours.

I take any little bottle I have with a flat lid about the size of a 50 cent piece. After putting the tobacco into the bowl I use the bottle with the lid on to pack it down. According to the package it should be as dense as it is in the wrapping you get it in. I do leave air space but no more than with any other brand. I put on the foil and poke big holes. Not as big as with a screen but bigger than normal, and lots of them. If I'm using an instant light like 3 Kings or Goldens, I use only one and hang a third of it off the bowl and shift it occasionally. I never have a problem with harshness, clouds are dense and usually the flavor is so strong I end up resmoking the bowl the following night with almost no reduction in flavor. I would assume by the results I must be doing something right......'Rani
teox
so if i dont pack it tightly or do anything speciali should just treat it like normal starbuzz/etc shisha and see how it goes? will try and post back btw did i acclimate right? i just left it out spread/mixed overnight on the table where i usually smoke. maybe about 16 hours. can you overacclimate shisha?
