Bulldog_916
1 hookah per 2 people. Keep the music unpopular. Kids go to hookah bars to hang out and smoke. They dont go to listen to music they hear all the damn time. I hate hookah bars like that. I want something authentic. Bars around here arent like that for that very reason, riffraff, loud obnoxious music, idiotic staff, etc. Good crowds come through authentic atmosphere, good service and good hookahs. Keep it scaled up like DJ said and you should be okay. Stock Tangiers, Fantasia, and phunnels for high-wage premium clients (30 dollar bowls, those clients exist, cater to them), Nakhla, AF, and Al Waha for most others. You pack the bowls like a pro and they will come.
mattathayde
idk about a person limit on a hookah, or at least not 2/per 4 per maybe but the bar would have to be very good for me not to get turned off by that (even though when i go with my friends we do only have 1-2 people per normally but still)-matt
Bulldog_916
You dont want 6 people coming in for 1 hookah. You're wasting space at that point. Plus, business wise, that doesnt make sense.

Plus, business wise, that doesnt make sense.i agree but from what ive seen any time there was that many people at one hookah they either left after a short time or most of them left.i like the buy a drink type cover charge and then what ever on the hookahs, if the place is good you will have a lot of people in there all night that will be smoking 1/per and just keep getting them refilled. also i think a refill price that is lower than the full on price is a good idea, and if you are limiting it to 2/per you really should do something like this-matt

mattathayde
see for food i would like some deep fried stuff like fries. cheese fries were the choice of food for us normally when we went to the junky place here. they had good sandwiches and some traditional stuff that was pretty good. no matter what you do have though make sure to have at least something that is no allergenic (i.e. non dairy items, non gluten items, non soy, vegan, etc) i only say this because now that i have been diagnosed with gluten intolerance you have no idea how hard it is to find food out at places i can eat. pre packaged stuff is pretty good but it would be really cool to be able to get something more substantial.for drinks cold water is good but i normally like something a little sweeter. iced tea (sweet tea not this crap they have up north that you can"add sugar packets to"), sodas are always a good choice. if its not to much work for you hot teas and coffee will probably go over well too. energy drinks will probably be a good seller with the 18-25 bracket as well-matt
