logan91
hey guys, im considering ordering from tobaccoimports usa, which i have read is the same as taqseem, people complain about sultan tobacco (i was never considering getting it though) and people complain about the quality of the stargate, leaking, wearing of linging, glue showing. i want to get all the necessary accessories for smoking, but i am worried about the quality of the products, windcover, tongs, stem brush, screen, foil etc. hookah company is more expensive in every regard but that almost makes me worry about getting the good price from tobacco imports usa, i dont like the idea of low quality products, i know "you get what you pay for" but i just want someone who has bought all or any accessories from tobbaccoimportsusa to tell me what they thought of the PRODUCT QULAITY, thanks! Sonthert
I have a business relationship with hookahcompany.com. That being said, despite the price difference, I believe you'll get your money's worth from them. A lower price isn't always a better price. I will personally stand behind George, and the quality of his products. How much of a difference are you talking?
logan91
well i just didnt want stuff to fall apart quickly, thats all i was conserned with, picutres for a lot of stuff looks the same on most sites, but prices differ, i find that weird, and i hear people say that southsmoke doesnt send you exactly what is in the picture, anyway i didnt want to get stuck with cheap products (not that i am saying tobaccoimportsusa is low quality) i went ahead and put in an order with hookah company, i just took off some accessories off my list so it wouldnt cost so much, $40 and some change after shipping and handeling, i got foil, wind cover, coal carrier, stem brush, tongs, and a screen, i still think 40 bucks is pretty expensive for those items, the subtotal has to be above 40 for them to throw in a measly 50g of layalina tobacco as a thank you, but its 40 bucks not including shipping, that was annoying, read the fine print i still have to buy a torch, tobacco, and coal, this is turning out to be pretty expensive, i know in the long run i will make my money back compared to going to a lounge, but for now its pretty pricey Subtotal...............................$33.50Tax (USA: 0%)...........................$0.00S&H.....................................$6.95GRAND TOTAL............................$40.
txbrit31
I think though that it really depends on how you look at it. I can spend roughly $30US (I'm a Texan in the UK) and get two-three hours at a hookah lounge in the UK. So let us say I want to smoke three times a week. Maybe 75-80.00 total. Or I could spend $100 or so- buy a hookah with accessories (unlike a certain "Maintanence kit" mentioned in another thread) and spend $30 for a variety of tobacco flavours. I'm out $130, but get 30 smokes (dependent on amount of charcoal with package, etc). As a musician I learned early on that spending the least amount of money on something isn't always a brilliant idea.. Admittedly- I'm still torn between hookahcompany, mya, and taqseem.. But, money wise- it seems a far better deal to invest in it rather than give my money to a lounge. (sorry to future and current lounge owners out there) TxBrit
ahc87
a buddy of mine recently ordered a hookah from tobaccoimportsusa and, so far, has had no problems with the hookah itself. they did fail to send the coals they promised and the bowl was completely broken when the package came in the mail. he called them up and they sent him around an entire box of 3 kings coals (100 pieces i think.... typically, they only send you 2 rolls ( 20 pieces) with the purchase of a hookah) as well as a new bowl. so... decent product and pretty good customer service from what i hear hope that will be of some help, ahc87
PipeSmokeMcGee
yeah, i know a young, budding hookah-entheusiast who recently ordered a 17" junior modern from tobaccoimportusa.com and he likes it. i have a socialsmoke junior modern, and it appears to be the exact same thing with the exception of the diameter of the coal tray. seems to be pretty good quality, and as ahc87 has said, they do give decent customer service.
