Stargate Hookah (help)

Hello,

I'm going to be buying a new hookah soon, and I have been looking around for a Stargate. I have been left and right on various different websites, and can't come up with a good buy. I would like 2 hoses, but would settle for a 1 hosed model. I've seen names such as Espresso, Stratus, and Stargate all appear under the new 'MODERN' category on many hookah purchasing websites. I believe Taqseem made the original Stargate hookahs, but their website isn't very helpful. Stargate's are supposed to be made of brass / stainless steal if I'm remembering correctly, not the knockoff aluminum. I've used the search function on the forums and have been unable to find any information about the differences of these products.

Would anybody mind helping me find a site that won't overcharge the hell out of me, and will sell me a good Stargate?

(in fact, if there's a hookah known to be really amazing and not so harshly priced, I wouldn't mind you sharing that with me either.. ;-))

Mya QT's & Bambinos although small, people are saying that they smoke just as good as any hookah out there. But I have never experienced it first hand, but I will be ordering one from mnh just as soon as i can.

Taquseem actually made the first non-solid silver rip off of the hookah that he named the stargate i believe. There are numerous reviews of the different stargate like hookahs. If i remember correctly, many of them have corrosion problems, pieces that get stuck, pieces that fall apart, and they are generally NOT well built in either craftsmanship nor materials.

And the next person who ignores a question just so they can plug a KM or any other hookah is going on a little vacation.

www.texashookah.com I just bought my two hose stargate hookah. I'm waiting for it to arrive in the next few days so I'll post back, but i thad the best price with the quality. you could tell some of the "esspresso" were much cheaper in desigin and style

Well if you would like to avoid stripping the acrylic base you can be gentle with it and use teflon tape to prolong it's life but the wearing is most likely inevitable.

i have a stratus (same as a stargate although i believed the stargate ripped off the stratus) it is an awesome looking hookah, and smokes great there are only two problems i have with it. It seems with all mod hookahs (not sure what the material is made off) they collect gunk/dust like crazy...my stratus will be cleaned and the next day have all white gunk in it so you have to clean it before and after use. My brother, and best friend also have the mini stratus and they have the same issue, collects massive gunk so i know it's not just my hookah

the other issue i have is the plastic acyrlic leaks like a mofo.during half the session your water level decreases like crazy, but i heard the glass model dosent leak but i'm not sure i didn't research it that much.

they seem to be very pricey, although they do look awesome and kick amazingly i just dont like the massive cleaning/leaking factor. Ask people who have purchased the one with the glass vase and see there opinions but i def wouldnt suggest buying the acrylic one. Edited October 6, 2008 by Anxiety

A lounge near me use to use the stargate hookahs exclusively, untill they started breaking, he has now switched over to Mya Obelisks. Which is in no way helps you, because the obelisk is far from super afforadable.

But I have smoked out of a stargate quite a few times, and I saw no problem with the smoke, they smoked fairly well.

Is there a reasonable way to avoid the leaking or correct it? and what exactly do you mean by it leaks? like between the acrylic and plastic? top bottom?

I had a stargate that lasted several years. It just died yesterday. I purchased mine from tasqeem, and the threads finally gave out. It was a good sturdy hookah in my opinion, just wish it would have lasted. I also didn't take the best care of my hookah when I first started so I'd like to think that the life would have been extended had I had the proper knowledge.
