Me And Naturals Not Getting Along

Recommended Posts

Ok so I bought some coco's and starlights.

I am using both a small tang phunnel and regular Egyptian bowl.

On the phunnel I am getting good smoke and good flavour but it starts to weaken after an hour.
When I remove the foil I find that there is shisha stuck to the foil and most of the shisha underneath is not burnt.
I have packed the bowl both up to the rim and above the rim and I am getting the same results.

When smoking from my Egyptian bowl the I get weak smoke and full flavour.

I am using 2 naturals on both bowls.

Any help would be appreciated I would love to post some pics but I am supposed to be studying and don't have the time to go through that process right now.

Thanks. Edited by SmokinMoose

You're probably packing it too tightly, and possibly using too much coal. It's no problem if the shisha sticks to the tinfoil - that's just the glycerin heating up, becoming sticky, and then drying. Try doing the following things, one or more of these should fix your problem.

1. Pack it looser.
2. Pack it (slightly) lower.
3. Employ a windcover periodically
4. Begin with one coal and a windcover, then when the first is at about 1/2, take the cover off and put on another coal, repeat twice more through the session.
5. Take deeper inhales
6. Move the coal around more during your session
7. If all else fails, do this. Poke your holes -periodically- during your session. This will reduce the amount of room temperature air, as opposed to hot air, that is hitting your shisha and therefore you will need to use less coal.

Alternatively, try packing a thin layer of a dry shisha, like Nahkla or perhaps Al Waha, on the bottom of your bowl, and then fill it with a wetter shisha. Dryer shishas have better airflow and burn slightly faster, so this way you'll get a nice even smoke all the way through- but you shouldn't find it necessary to do this to get great clouds. My personal favourite bowl right now is a thin layer of Nahkla caramel on the bottom, covered in AF Cafe Latte in a Bambino bowl.

Day 7 of tonsillitis. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK I want to smoke.

1. Pack it looser.
I'll try this

I'll try this

Tried this

5. Take deeper inhales
I always do this.

I'll try this
7. If all else fails, do this. Poke your holes -periodically- during your session. This will reduce the amount of room temperature air, as opposed to hot air, that is hitting your shisha and therefore you will need to use less coal.
I'll try this as well.

GOODluck with the tonsillitis. Thanks for the help man.

i flip my cocos after about 5-10 mins for the first 2-3 flips then about 10-15 for the rest of the session. i flip them more when the are fresh because the tops like to go black a touch and i want to keep all of it as evenly warm as i can.

is this with tangiers or with other stuff?

even with tangiers i pack it down with out the foil and make sure there is some extra space so the foil doesnt touch the shisha. that seems to prevent as hard of a burned layer and allows it to burn more evenly... dont try to repoke the holes, it doesnt work (at least every time ive tried it)

I would first slow down when preparing the bowl. Making sure not to overpack. For a small phunnel 3 coconaras is what I use and have never had a problem. For holes I do 2 rings, outer 12 toothpick sized holes and inner 8 toothpick sized holes. Works like a champ on any bowl or shisha. And I get killer clouds. Best of luck. Aren't you going on a trip soon?
