TomBrone
Hello all, just a quick question for all of you. The hoses of my hookah don't pull very good, they are too small. Can I solve this problem by just buying new, better hoses, or do I need a new hookah? Thanks,Tom
ryno
I better hose always helps the pull. What kind of hookah do you have?
modisess
large id (internal diameter?) hoses always helps with the pull. i smoked with a km hose before, the pull was effortless than the stock hoses that came with the hookah i bought.but, the hookah also plays a major part, larger id stem and also the size of the ports. staygone
Seeing that you had assessed your hoses and concluded that they pull bad, I believe that you are going to need a better hookah.-QM
AKammenzind
@OP Yes, a wider hose will definitely reduce the draw effort. Just make sure that your hookah hose port is large enough to accomodate a hose before you buy it (as a general rule it seems that it shouldn't be less than 1/2" diameter for most hoses) You could always rig it to accept a bigger hose though, so no real worries.QUOTE (modisess @ Oct 8 2008, 11:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>large id (internal diameter?)The term is inside diameter, but yes. Larger hose ID = easier pull. In my experience the hose matters a good bit more than the hookah. I've smoked pumpkins with a wide hose and got the same pull as I did with an (at least 50% greater ID) egyptian hookah. Bigger hookahs are better at cooling the smoke, as the more water there is the less time it takes for it to get warm from the smoke. And they're generally more stable, but the main factor in the ease of draw seems to be the hose.
Hippo_Master
Yeah dude, check your center tube (unless you have a Mya) and if you can fit your pinky in it it's wide gauge. Wide hoses will always help the pull, but if your hookah is something like a Chinese hookah the pull will always be toight like a toiger because of those 4 little tiny holes that lead into the middle part of the hookah (the hole are tiny and it restricts the pull). TomBrone
These are some pictures of my hookah. I bought this for about 80 dollars. The inner diameter of the stem is 12 mm (= 0,47 inch). I can fit the tip of my pinky in it (my finger are pretty thick though ^^). The inner diameter of the hose adapter (the black grommet) is 13mm (=0,51 inch). The inner diameter of the glass vase (wich I don't like) is 45 mm (= 1,77 inch).I want to buy 2 new hoses, and a new base for my hookah. The hight of the hookah is about 22 inch. Will the nammor hoses fit? And what vase (I want an Egyptian vase) will fit my hookah? Thanks,Tom
dead_lemons
dont go nammor, get your self a good KM hose(they dont fall apart )-DL
Stuie
Tom it looks like possibly a Inhale hookah. When you buy the nammor, order some normal hose grommets, those black ones you have may be to thick.
TomBrone
But you guys agree with me, that if I buy some decent hoses, there is no reason why the hookah wouldn't smoke good..Tom
Stuie
Nammor will make any hookah smoke better than it already does. Do it, you won't regret it.
TomBrone
Btw, does anyone know where I can get some good information on Inhale hookahs? I found that there are Inhale 'Super' Hookahs, and I'm pretty sure now that's the type of hookah I have.ThanksTom

TomBrone
if all of the information is in chinese, then my hookah is chinese, and that's not good I suppose? Maybe buyin a new hookah is the best solution. Tom
Codename067
I prefer KM hoses because1. They don't fall apart2. They are traditional and have a great variety of designs [and look better on Egyptian hookahs]3. EXTRA long handle.Down side..they are not washable. EXTRA long handle.Down side..they are not washable.Okay, sorry to threadjack, but it will help us both.I've been looking at the Nammor/Razan for a while, because I've heard such great things. My phunnel bowl is coming in tomorrow, so my next upgrade is most likely going to be the hose. I read your post, so I decided to look for KM hoses. I checked all of the main vendors, and it turns out that HookahCompany has a huge variety of KM hoses. If I were to invest in a few KM hoses (which I'm leaning toward now, considering the unraveling problem that Nammors seem to have), which hose should I get? HC has Standard, Ultimate, Leather, Wrapped, and Supreme, while most other sites just have Standard. Any advice you have is greatly appreciated, because I don't want to buy a hose that is going to fall apart in a few weeks.
