I Love The Phunnel, But The Phunnel Doesn't Love Me

Hey everyone

So here's my deal. My brother and I have a sweet phunnel bowl, but we're having some issues with it. Namely, we tend to get a ton of molasses in the water. Like, more than we would with a regular Egyptian bowl. Like, so much that halfway through the bowl we have to take the stem off and change out the water. This is confusing to us. We were pretty sure that the molasses was supposed to stay in the bowl, thereby increasing the length of the smoke, the density of the smoke, and most importantly, the flavor of the smoke.

We do tend to pack the bowl with especially wet shisha. Also, we're using a homemade scalli mod made of tin foil instead of one of the commercially available scallis. Could it be that we're packing it too wet? Are we inept at making the mod? What the hell? Help!

I'd just pack it without the mod, I don't see much of a point for the mod. I smoke alot of AF out of my phunnel and that never happens... Try packing less maybe?

I noticed that if you are using particularly wet shisha and a mod you will get juice in your stem! This was an issue when I got that first sample of fantasia pink lemonade!

Make sure you arent getting shisha inside the shaft of the bowl when you pack it. If you do, it might stick in there and then drop down into the stem eventually.

I ask if it's you because I'm curious about the lack of use of a mod. When I don't use a mod the draw tends to be too easy and I don't get jack for smoke. I'm curious about the method.
