Hello, Got Some Questions For Ya

Recommended Posts

Well fist welcome to the forum. I have not had smoked out of that hookah before but it seems like a good one and hookah shisha is a good vendor, some people have had problems but they have a pretty good track record. Also what kind of tobacco are you getting? I would highly recommend Al Fakher (AF). Good flavors are Eskandarani apple and Fruit mix. Anyway I hope you learn a lot on this forum just like I have.

for your first hookah that should be pretty good. i like the way it looks. All black= sex lol. My first hookah was a cheap three hose i got at a local smoke shop and i loved it till i got a KM. I still use the three hose once in a great while just because i dont always want to have to share the hose with other people.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing when I saw it....damn that is sexy!! lol. I think the only way it could be sexier is it if had some dark blood red trim on it, then it would be perfect. Anyway the shop we go to mostly uses Romman and Al Fakher. So I would stick with either of those. I was planning on getting blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, stawberry and vanilla. The shop does a mix of all those and calls it black velvet, and it is to die for! Anyway does the price seem reasonable? is there anyother sites that people would recommend? Its going to be a few weeks till I get one. I kinda want to get a few flavors stocked up before I get my hookah, and I am in no rush either.

Well that is a good hookah, but it's sold out. Not sure when they are getting new ones in. You can chat with them and you should be able to find out. Don't worry about Romman it's one of my staples. Pack it tight make sure there is air flow through the tobacco and load up the heat. But starting out I would say grab some 50g packs form different brands and flavors and just start trying till you find something you like. you can always get a mya I have smoked out of most of them, and they are all winners!

I would have to agree with Jezter, I got me a Mya and I couldnt be happier. For the price you are spending you can get a nice 2 hose Mya and have that quality. Not that the one you picked isn't quality, I have just never heard any reviews on it.

I'll fourth the QT recommendation. An amazing hookah at an amazing price, which gives you extra money to load up on coals, shisha, etc.

I would also recommend AF, especially Mint, Cinnamon, Golden Esk. Apple, and Golden Grape

I read the reviews on H-S.com about the ebony and all said it was really good, I will look around for reviews on the ebony elsewhere though before buying one. I really like the price of the QT but I dont really like the look of it as much, I was also shooting for a little larger of a hookah as well. I will take your considerations though and I might just get that one first, christmas is coming up rather soon as well! smile.gif I could always get the GF to get me the ebony later. Like it was suggested I will get a few smaller variety packs from different shisha makers and see what I like. Im not as much worried about longevity of the smoke as much as good consistant flavor.

And as for coals- what do you recommend? I dont mind taking extra time to prepare natural coals if it will give a much better smoke. I know I get some quick lites if I order from H-S.com. I have read really good reviews about the Exotica brand. Comments? Edited by dafunk5446

exoticas are pretty decent coals. they havebeen my main coal for a year or so now. i think i am going to be trying coco coals once i use up my current box of exoticas though just so i can compair them. i have used coco coals in the past a little and loved them. Natural coals make a huge differents. i never use QL coals anymore. i only did when i first got into hookah because i didnt know any better.

Take a look at the reviews in the coals review section, theres a wealth of information on coals and even some side by side tests. There and some coals on HC for $10 a box and I have heard really good things about them and I am going to do a heads up with them and coconaras once they come in.

The QT is a beast for its size, sadly the base broke so I have to buy another from HS soon as I need more coals/tobacco. As for coals, personally I'd say try japanese coals for ease of use or you can try the infamous coco naras (I just don't see all the hype). Or you can be like me buy some quality gardening shears to break up exoticas, works wonders!

Hi all so I just bought a KM red pear hookah and it isn't very smooth...any tips on how to make it smoother

what do you mean it isnt very smooth? it has sharp edges?
or the smoke is harsh? if this is the case then use less heat.

The smoke is harsh and it is hard to suck..I guess that is what I mean. I only had one coal on it when I used it. I thought I used too less or too much water.

sounds like you might be over packing your tobacco razor, try simply sprinkling the tobacco into your bowl so that there is more airflow. Need more info on your setup, what coals you are using, what tobacco, what hookah etc. My advice, start a new thread or make a search for harsh smoke, this could be considered thread jacking.
