Stuie
well if i did the math rightCocos $13.95 for 84 CoalsCocos are $0.17 a coal and last 60-80."Other" are 13.95 for 132 CoalsOthers are $0.11 a coal and last 30-40, to get the equal a coco you have to use another...so ....Cocos $0.17 ....Others $0.22 per hour.I guess I will stick with the better value
melanko
Interesting choice of coal. But I'm still weary of any type of quicklight (makes me feel sick).I'll stick with standard CoCo's.
Scoop
lol. ive used cocos and they dont last an hour and 20 minutes...ever.i count them dead when i need to start 3 more. thats usually 45mins for any coal i use. the banned cococoals last a little less, but not 1/3 of the time lol...i want to see a video of coconara coals after 1hr20min and see how much smoke youre getting from them. they are going to be peeble size (if even that big). if you consider the tiny wisps of air smoke more power to you but i dont think ive ever used a coal for that long. newjacksm
Cocos last about 50 Min I believe and the Exotica japs last like 25 min. I hate those fucking things. They really do last about 25 min by the time I put one on there and start getting good smoke I have to start lighting another one because its ashed and its the size of a pinky already.. Hate the Exotica Japs.. its a PITA

Probably won't get my best use out of them now that Winter is approaching. Warm room and outside conditions help the coals also. I notice they only last an hour when it's cold in my house. But I'm still weary of any type of quicklight (makes me feel sick).I'll stick with standard CoCo's.Well see here is the thing, I love Coco's I really do however I dont have access to a stove to light them on very often and I normally smoke outside these days where I dont have access to electricity. When I had Coco's I used a portable propane stove that I had lying around and they never seemed to light properly. The "portable" stove is rather large so I dont want to carry it around. To get to my point I bought these because I love the coconut coals as there is not a whole heck of a difference between the brands however because of what was stated above I would love to get one that was quick light and I always wished they were around and now that they are I wanna try em out. gruver
I ordered a box of those quicklights on Monday as well. Interested to try them. Since I've been using coco's and natural hardwood charcoal, it's hard to use regular quicklights when I'm at friend's houses or elsewhere. I hope they're at least close to the coco's. Click
Screw Cocos. They last maybe 40-50 mins and cost too much. A whole box of exoticas is like 5 or 6 bucks. Hell even those Easy Lite Japanese Coals (made in China) last like 35 mins and are 3 bucks for ~90 cubes. Or just get Golden Canary Japanese Coals. They sell cocos for 5 dollars here and thats the 16 pack. I get those when I dont have anything and that has been lately because I refuse to use the japanese exoticas I bought I hate them they ash so much and taint the bowl. gruver
I used a few of the ql's over the weekend. Much nicer than the 3kings I usually use when I'm not at home.Compared to coconaras, they seem to burn hotter and not last as long. Maybe 2/3 the time of the cocos. I was only able to keep 2 of them on a small phunnel with fantasia, while I usually would use 3 cocos. When they stared to die down I added a 3rd. I'll probably continue to use them for travel coals and maybe for shisha that takes a ton of heat. I'll stick with the cocos and natural hardwood coals for everything else. srawas89
Yea I know about how they dont last as long as coco's. I had the opportunity to smoke with them today and it was MUCH MUCH better than 3kings....I think I will be buying these every time I need coals from now on cuz damn....its the best quick lights I have ever used....although they need a pretty strong flame to use a normal bic lighter will suffice but sometimes they wont be all the way red hot after all the sparking.
