Anyone Else Hate Doing Presentations In School?

I am sick of having to do presentations in my college classes, they just suck and I get all sweaty and nervous and shit. I know I shouldn't I just can't stand doing them ... anyone else with me?

I think on my next presentation I'm just gonna say eat me, and sit back down in my chair as if nothing happened.

Presentations in English - No problem, in fact, I'd love to!
Presentations in Russian/Polish - Sure, but I won't explain the 'fancy' words.
Presentations in Spanish - OK, give me a few days.
Presentation in Italian (next Monday) - Scusi, ma io non parlo italiano!

By the way, your presentation does not have to have a lot of substance (ie., information). Just has to be smooth... After all, this is why you go to college, to learn how to bullshit people smile.gif

Ive always hated having to do presentations, which is why I dropped my speech class the first time I took and havent retaken it since.

The only other class I hate more is the literature class Im currently in because of all the papers I have to write, I feel like Im going insane from all the stupid crap I have to do a paper on.

For my next presentation, we have to give an informative speech over something we're obsessed with. (It's for a public speaking class that's required.)

I'm doing mine on hookah.

I'm excited.

Yeah, my next presentation is gonna be about hookah as well. Should be fun.
I'm working on my powerpoint at the moment.

But as for me, sometimes I just love doing presentations. Well... i like the attention, and it's good marks.

I know just how you feel. Its wierd I love talking to people as a group of friends but once it comes down to me needing to write something and present it to a group i totally freeze up. Mind goes a million miles an hour. sweat glands kick into over drive and nerves go out the window. Im normally a really calm person till presentations come up then Im more of the "Fuck that. Get me outta here kinda Guy" lol

yeah, kinda blows, It is a group project though, we have like 22 slides total 1 being the title page and 1 being a works cited so it isn't too bad I only have to go over 4-5 slides then I'm done, so I will only be talking for a couple minutes tops.

No biggy I guess, I just get nervous going up there, I wish I didn't.

meh...i used to absolutely lock up and not be able to do them at all...after i've taken a couple classes where i was forced to present something once or twice a week i got used to them. i still get all nervous before i go on, but once i stand up to actually go up and do it, my brain clears and i just go. it's really not that bad, you just gotta keep in mind that you know more about your topic than anyone else in the room, so even if you fuck up they won't know...just keep it smooth.

I love doing presentations, its one of my gifts. Been that way since I was a kid. I call it a gift because it is a requirement for success. You wont make president if you can't speak, well maybe you can hehe, anyways you need to be able to speak to the masses. And I sweat like 300lb jogger when I do a presentation, so keep your arms down rofl. Lots of people studder and all that when language is a challenge, but keeping it smooth is just as important as keeping it informative. You should learn yourself to cough if you don't say things right and stuff, it's transparent but fun for everyone!
whatever you do, don't bail out. come on. it's fun from time to time, and you get to speak where everyone has to shut up so take advantage!

Meh in my book..its 'scary' and all up until I say the first word then everything just follows smoothly.

Try not to think about it too much when you are presenting..try to imagine that no one is in class lol. It worked for me.
