eVasKo*
I'm unfamiliar with this mod... So, what exactly does it do? And do you put holes in the tin?
*Veritas*
^^^ Im not to sure on its orgins But it Serves a few useful purposes.1. Help so when you drag the foil doesnt get sucked down onto the Phunnel cutting air flow2. Makes the smoke pull Back thru the shisha in an attempt to pick up a little more flavor.Any one else Know what else it helps with? I dont have one myself but am just going off what i have read.As for your second question. There is no need to make holes in it. You just pinch the bottom up a little on three sides so the air can flow under the MOD and then into the stem.P.S. Its for use with a phunnel bowl only Just incase you didnt know that. eVasKo*
I know. I don't have a phunnel bowl, but I was still curious because I might order one soon. Is a phunnel bowl really worth it? I've heard a lot, so I might get one with my next shipment of tobacco. Thanks

Giant Ninja Robot
I tried to make this for my medium phunnel the other night and it was waaay to small, I suppose it would work if I built up the foil a bit so it was taller maybe I'll try that. You guys forgot the most important part of a scalli type mod - SHISHA CONSERVATION! indian_villager
I just use a tea light as a form to make a disposable mod out of al foil!
agentscot
Ive found that the easiest way to make a homemade mod is with an aluminum bottle cap like those on Perrier bottles or miller high life. You just have to make sure you burn off all of the paint.
darkone253
I might have to try one of these. I can definitely see how it would be useful.
.me
so why not just cut little holes with scissors?
Hookah S Moka
ya ive used the tea light method and still do as a cheap scalli mod, but mine is a bit different, i cut out the bottom only and just use that and bend it 4 ways, it helps to prevent the center hole getting covered with the foil and prevents alot of the ash going down the stem mostly. thehelios
Just made one of these, and the airflow seems prettey good so I'ma experiment tonight and leave some feedback.
thehelios
OMFG!Me+phunnel bowl+tea light scalli=AMAZING!!!!I seriously can't comprehend how well this works. I put the tea light scalli in, used mint AF, and then had 2 3 kings QL and the thing lasted well for a little over an hour. I don't know if I want to touch an egyptian bowl ever again. Thicker smoke, flavor did not disappear toward the end, and it uses the same amount as an egyptian.
K1024
the other thing about using a tealight instead of glass is that a tealight is an incredible heat conductor. try holding one and applying a flame for less than a second. you will be unable to hold the metal. i think using a tealight as a scalli mod probably helps heat distribution significantly. After a 2 hour session and cleaning out the phunnel, all of the shisha burned evenly; No random unburned portions.
