crashrebootrepeat
Good Evening - Has anyone ever recieved a batch of flavorlesss starbuzz? I received my order from hookah-shisha and I have tried smoking 4 of the 6 flavors I ordered and all I taste is SMOKE. It's NOT harsh or burning. I am getting quality puffy white clouds.. but I can't taste anything but smoke. It smells good and rich in the cans.I am using a clean pipe (actually I have tried two now) and a brand new hose.Confused?I bought Rose, Watermelon, Melon Dew, Spearmint, White Peach, and royal grape.Of those flavors rose is the only one I have bought before and I don't taste anything but SMOKE.Again.. not harsh or burning. Good quality clouds.. just NO FLAVOR. Edited October 17, 2008 by crashrebootrepeat
Apets22
Starbuzz is finickey. Stir it up before you pack it. Ive found that packing SB (and Fantasia as well for that matter) needs to be packed a LITTLE bit tighter then AF. I cant stress the little bit part enough. Also, if your water is too cold it could suck the flavor out, use room temp water just to experiment. And, if the hose is BRAND new, it could have something to do with it, maybe youre getting a little bit of a plastic flavor. Just wash it out a few times with lemon juice and water.

baller5555
also you might want to use more or less coals. depending if you get flavor or it gets too harsh.
*Veritas*
I would say the problem is in the packing. Each brand has its differences from what i have noticed. Try as suggested above and pack it a little tighter. What Bowl you using That way we can tell you how better to pack it? If that is indeed your issue. Razan, nammor, or mya washableDO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT WASH MYA WASHABLES. THEY RUST. I washed a MYA washable once thinking it was washable and the next day i pulled out the hoses for a session and i tasted aweful bits of rusted metal on my tongue. and when i blew the hose out onto a white paper towel, BROWN EVERYWHERE. The only 100% washable hoses i know of are Nammor/Razan or the clear DIY vinyl hose you can get from a hardware store. As for your flavorless problem, Ive never had that with SB. I just pack it like pretty much any tobacco i normally use. I get tons of flavor and I use cold water 99% of my sessions. My regular smokes from starbuzz are X On The Beach, Plum, Blueberry, and Cantaloupe. Even though I dont like cantaloupe very much. Your flavors you have seem like they would pack tons of flavor. Then again, it could just be your pallet. No offense to you of course. Also, mix up the tobacco very well before packing, and try not to over or underpack the bowl.
