If i remember correctly, they light quickly and comfortably, 5 mins or less. They may flake and leave some residue while lighting. Impart very little flavour and last about 40 minutes realistically. Never tried exoticas myself.
mattarios2
hmm sounds like the only advantage of spending more for canarys is quick lighting and being able to light one off another. I think I am gonna go with the easy lights.
Giant Ninja Robot
I've also never had exoticas (ordering some monday) but I've tried the japs and they were good coals. The silver stuff can be a slight pain especially if you dont let them get hot enough. You have to scrape it off when they are thoroughly lit and are hot off the stove. Honestly though they are good coals and the ashing isnt bad.I like em.
ryno
I tried some of the Exotica japs and I didnt care for them too much.. Lasted about a half hour (of decent smoke), but I had some break on the stove on me.. The Easy Lite japs from MNH are good though
joytron
they are pretty simiar to exotica easy lights. They work well, last decent, and I like the way the ash. Be sure to get them really hot and all the silver stuff will come right off.
Giant Ninja Robot
For the record unless I missed them I dont think MNH carries the easy light japs anymore. I checked and didnt see then a week or so ago.
