Subpar Starbuzz Shisha

Recommended Posts

Well we all know that with the exception of a few flavors, SB tends to taper off on the flavor end fairly quickly. Who wants clouds with no flavor?

It seems that as the stuff averages 20$ per 250 we should be getting more more more.

My issue (I know it's been said a million times before) is that I LOOOOVE the smell and taste of most SB I've tried but I just cannot justify spending that much cash when I can find AF as cheap as 7.50 a tub and it will last through the whole session.

WILL STARBUZZ EVER FIX THIS ISSUE?

WHAT CAUSES THE FLAVOR LOSS IN THE FIRST PLACE?

CAN WE DO ANYTHING TO FIND OUT (email, phone, friendly petition)?

this is a selfish post - I smelled Tangerine dream and it smells heavenly but I'm not payin that much till I know I'm getting a great product - yes I know I'm doomed to dissapointment and realistically they wont do shit as long as people pay up. dry.gif

Ninja I feel the same way. It just doesn't make sense that they can charge so much for something when for less the price of 2 250's i can get a kilo of AF. Just a question when/where are you finding AF for 7.50 a 250g?

Dude, starbuzz is subpar tobacco, they just soak it in honey, that's where the extra cost comes from, and various traid agreements, but @#$% that.

Your SMOKING this shit, who gives a crap if it's soaked in honey or molasses or opium?! Ok replace the latter with glycerin. But it's all smoke, and as long as its not pig glycerin, it all depends on the smoke, not what you soaked it in and charged me $10 more bucks over.

PS - stick with AF

The Pumpkin Pie flavor stays through out. I actually have left over Golden Esk Apple left over in my my small bowl I am gonna mix that with pumpkin pie once I get back from my test later on today (which I am going to fail terribly ughhhh)

I got away from SB myself GNR. But after hearing positive reviews about some of the new flavors I decided to give SB another shot. I bought the 5 - 100g pack from Social Smoke. I gotta say I was really surprised. The flavors were really on point and it lasted for more than one set of coals. I've only smoked 1 bowl from 4 of the 5 flavors I ordered. I'm in the process of finalizing my move from TX to SoCal. Wednesday is when i move in to my place and I'll do more extensive research then. I hope this helps.

Completely agree, Ninja. I love the flavor of their shisha and Blue Mist, in my opinion, is heavenly...for about 20 minutes. If Starbuzz could make the flavor last as long or even a little less than AF, I wouldn't mind paying their premiums.

Maybe they'll come out with an "Endurance" line and charge $10 more. *sigh*

Local shop has a deal, Drabin, 3 tubs for like 22-23 bucks.

Realistically though, other shisha uses honey and doesnt cost as much.

I have some Fusion samples I can't wait to try since they have similar flavors to SB and are a bit cheaper, especially if you find a 3pk deal.

See the thing VDDZ, is that the only thing I've found to be subpar about SB is the longevity and consistency of flavor (and price of course). I've had some amazing flavors so in a perfect world if it was 13-15 bucks (reasonable enough I think) and the flavor issue was fixed I'd be all over it.

My sentiments exactly! It smells so damn good, load it up and it just goes down hill from there! Blackberry and blue mist seems to hold longer especially in a phunnel. X on the beach, from the beginning, tastes like a piece of fruity gum that you have chewed for seven days! I really hope they fix there issues cause if they could strengthen the flavors and duration it might be worth the higher price.

why would starbuzz fix it when people buy it like crazy.

the bowls are only good for the first hour, repack, repeat. great for hookah lounge owners too.

they aren't in the making you happy business. they have plenty of people who gobble their product up so CS is out the window.-

Only fusion ive had so far was red rhino and I was very displeased. Smelled excellent tasted like crap. The very little taste i had was gone in under 10 minutes.
I recently got some fantasia flavors and while the flavor does last I feel like I bought a bowl of soup with almost as many stems as leafs of shisha. and wtf is with 200 grams... do 250 like everyone else. Personally I think Fantasia is a bigger rip off then SB. Its almost the same price for 50 grams less with a huge amount of stems and more Juice then actual shisha.

when you do the math there are shishas that are more expensive per gram, especially with the advent of the 200g container but dammit I want some interesting flavor choice that LASTS. I'm very happy with AF but they dont have the more exotic stuff.

Golden Layalina is another option for an SB type shisha that could have decent longevity. I almost picked some up but decided not to this time.

GNR, have you tried Nakhla's Mandarin Orange yet? It's a lot cheaper than SB and the flavor is plenty strong!

I doubt they will fix it cause it keeps gettin bought the way it is. If people are still eatin it up for that price and that amount of flavor whats it matter the the MFG it would cost them more to make the flavor better so they wuld chage the customer more. This is why i like tangiers. Hes an honest business guy, his products are affordable and they LAST.

mandarin Orange is a great flavor (nakhla) however its nothing like smoking any premium shisha. Especially the buzz factor.
If I could pack Tangiers I would smoke it for sure. The flavors in tang shisha is amazing but I haven't had luck the 5 or so times ive tried it. And now that I sent sixpack all my tang i guess I won't be trying again for a while.
I've heard about golden layalina but I never got around to buying it. Where can you get it? HC? what flavors are worth smoking?

Why even buy SB? I think thats the question that should be tossed around in the first place..lol xp

I could care less for SB honestly, as long as they keep on making white peach then I am ok, and if not, hell, I'll start making my own!!

if the tobacco is oozing juice (layalina for example), its probably using water based flavorings, which need to be diluted (thus all the juice). they add food coloring and that water goo bath to your tobacco. once the water evaporates from the bowl all the flavor is gone.

What do you mean by the buzz factor? Nakhla gives plenty buzz. How would you say it's different than smoking "premium" shisha?

Well I found starbuzz locally in orlando for $15 per 250g which I find to be decent, So I don't mind paying that for some blue mist or something tasty

$15.00 for 250g is a good deal for Starbuzz.

Thats a great deal, unfortunatly the only local seller of starbuzz here sells it for 11 for 100g and 20 for 200. He really doesn't know anything about shisha as he prices Al Fahker 11 for 50grams and 20 for 250grams.

He calls AF AL Fa-Keer said thats the right way to pronounce it. I dont know if thats right or not but I know thats an absurd price for AF.
