BWheel
I live in a small college town of approx 50,000. Theres not a Hookah Bar here, and I feel like it would be a nice addition to the community. The town does tend to be more conservative though with 38% of the pop. dems and 60% gop. Could a Hookah bar thrive in this setting? What other factors should I be considering in a market analysis? Any help is hugely appreciatedbw

NarghileNights
with that small of a population I am immediately hesitant.is there anything in the town that forces 18-20/18-24 year olds there? Army Base? College? Anything?since your crowd typically can't go to the bars that is who you need to be looking for.dems and gop really don't matter. if there's no smoking ban don't worry about it. mattathayde
back home for me is a pretty conservative area in VA, it is a huge amount of military too, and the hookah bar there is thriving (being relative since it is not a huge money making business in all honesty). but if you have a college there you will have people coming in. honestly for the people you are trying to sell to conservative/liberal/what ever doesnt matter, i have die hard rep. friends and die hard dem friends that smoke and own hookahsnow not getting issues from old farts might be an issue but i would expect only some of the extremist anti smoking people to complain especially if you explained it well to the more conservatives since they typically dont care about smoking tobacco too much. if you have issues open a "smoking" lounge for tobacco and have cigar/pipe section or jsut let all mix and match (probably better to separate but you really cant stop many people from smoking cigs in a hookah bar that is in a college town)-matt
