shishafan
i have a brass hookah, and the part of the stem closest to bowl , the inside of it is starting to turn yellow, while the part of the stem touching the water is still a goldish brown. is it normal for brass to turn yellow? SmokinMoose
Have you ever polished the brass?Do you have some pics so we can see it?
ColibriDon
Polishing it would probably help. I use Weimman (Or something like that) to polish my brass. Also, the polish will make your hookah shine like gold.

That means you need cleaning dude. Don't you have the cleaning kit together with your KM? Apply dish washing soap on the brush and brush it HARD. Than for the last touch up, some strong alcohol which would dissolve anything inside including the foul smell.
Scoop
alcohol tarnishes brass further.best thing to do is get a metal wooly and attach it to a clothes hanger and go crazy inside. then use baking soda/lemon juice paste to clean afterward. mushrat
or find a wire gun barrel brush the right diameter. That'll give it a good scrubbing.
