Lighting Coconara's In The Microwave

Recommended Posts

With Scalli's experimenting, I believe he was able to light up VERY dense coals in the microwave but he made his own coals which just ended up exploding. I'll find you the link, the vid is a fun watch.

EDIT: From the looks of it, his website is down right now. Here's the link for some responses that will give you some insight.

Microwaves don't generate heat they vibrate water molecules. So no, it wont work.

ya next time do some research.....btw i DONT endorse lighting cocos in your microwave, just go buy a torch from Home Depot...it will work alot better and you wont burn down your dorm by setting your microwave on fire.

He's right about a microwave vibrating water molecules (my understanding is that the friction of the vibration causes the heat). But, there is actually a small amount of moisture in almost everything, so there will be enough moisture in the coal to get it heated. This is also why you can put a cracker in the microwave and heat it up. While there might be no moisture on it that you can feel, on the molecular level there is moisture.

I remember when Scali did it, a few people also mentioned it before I posted. I'm just trying to discourage people from either breaking an expensive microwave or hurting themselves. No one on the forum should 100% endorse lighting coals with a microwave since not all coals are the same and not all microwaves are the same.

Do you remember when someone tried to light exoticas in the microwave? lol_hitting.gif Edited by Tom16689

....okay....

1st that moron is using a cheap microwave. Bet he doesn't have the stones to do it in the one he cooks food in
2nd those flames...only a matter of time till a hole is burned through the top....then next time either ...ffffffzzzzz POP or ....BOOM! blackout
3rd seriously they don't take that long to light just put them on a burner and make your bowl setup your hookah. before you are done the coals are done.
