tweek
I new and very weak on heat management. My setup is a Mya Razo with the standard mya bowl. Im sure each type of shisha needs different heat but im almost totally lost. Ive been reading shisha reviews and some people use 1 coal then I read some people using 4. Right now I have some of the large 3 kings coals. Ive been smoking romman and fantasia and usually use one whole coal intill it shrinks then toss another on. Im getting decent clouds but nothing like some clouds in finding on youtube. No looking for an exact answer on what amount of coals to use but more or less how to tell if i dont have enough or when I have to much. Ive noticed sometimes i get a harsh bite and I move the coal over to about half way on the bowl. Also when should I be moving the coal? How can you tell when the coal needs to be rotated?Sorry for my newbish questions, im just trying to improve on my hookah skillz yo' hahaThanksSean (happy 2-1 to me )
joytron
Break up the coal into peices, I use the 33MM 3 kings sometimes and a coal and a half broken up into peices works pretty good. I think the key is to start out slow and give it some time to heat up, no sense rushing it or the shisha will burn, Make sure your coal(s) are on the edge and move them whenever you fee like. chinamon
when i use my mya qt with the standard mya bowl i only use one 33mm 3king at a time. a 40mm is usually too much heat.how are you packing your bowl?

srawas89
OK sounds like you are packing it right. As for the coals instead of splitting it and dealing with the mess light 2 3 kings and stack one at an angle on the other coals. THe amount of heat is not as much as 2 but it emulates about 1 and a half the amount of heat. If that is not enough than simply but the 2 coals completely flat on the bowl. cb1021
well for those super thick clouds, you will need a phunnel bowl. also heat management is a dynamic and "organic" task. i suggest you put on as much heat as you can, without burning the tobacco. also note different brands of shisha need different kinds of heat.
