Km Ssr Vs Km Exotica

Recommended Posts

Okay, I see the stems are slightly different and all that. I am leaning towards the SSR because I think it looks nicer. They are both supposedly 40". I was wondering if anyone here has experience with both. How well do they both smoke? Are they both 1 piece stems? Anything I should know about before buying or anything I should know as to why to buy or not buy these?

I'm really in the market for a tall hookah, one or two hose doesn't really matter too much. I know there is the MZ that is 48" but I hate the fact that it has two of those dish things.

On that note, does the SSR or Exotica come in 2 hose?

search function... it does wonders... like saves tons of time on waiting on people to answer a question that been answered in this form or a very similar one 15 times this month already

its a hard question but it boils down to, pick the one you like the look of

i love my exotica and wouldnt trade it for much else but its red and i know many people here dont like that colour but it doesnt make it smoke any less:) and thats only my opinion

both will smoke the same neither come in 2 hose and both are 1 piece stems

dont just look at km because everyone loves them look around at some of the unbranded hookahs there are a large number of tall egyptians which you may like better but just ignored because of the name or lack thereof but the reality is some of them may smoke just as well.

find something no one else has! (easy for me to say im in the uk no one has anything good here)

There is no info on the SSR on this forum yet so "search for it" doesn't apply.

On a lighter note, I think the SSR looks better it gets my vote

No difference other then height..

KM's all smoke the exact same. The exotica is huge and may be too tall for some to lug around. Both are a bit too tall for my tastes but for others they are perfect.

gte the one you think looks nicer. Aesthetics is the basis of every KM choice. smile.gif Edited by Hippo_Master

Ive smoked both in the same sesh, they dont really smoke any different.

As everyone else here has recommended, go with what serves your fancy more.

Keep in mind though, 40 inch hookahs are a bitch to clean and a pain in the ass to carry around. I use a guitar case when i take mine anywhere. If this is an all around hookah i would say look at some of the smaller ones, like a amoura jr. or a dual/tri. They all smoke pretty consistantly.

just my .02

Thanks for all the input guys, it's very much appreciated.

I already have a "whore-hookah" that gets dragged around everywhere, it's a 3 hose so it really does the trick at parties. I'm looking for something pretty to sit at home for me to enjoy with a friend or two at most. Does a larger hookah make any difference? I have a 28" no-brand one that I am more than happy with. I don't care much for brand name but I just want to get something that everyone has actually so that if something goes wrong, it's not too hard to replace or fix and whatnot.

Ideally, I want to buy this hookah along with a bunch of gadgets like a diffuser and a funnel bowl. The way I understand it is these are all universal-fit items anyway.

In a nutshell, I think it's time to upgrade. I purchased my current hookah at a store for $60 after a lot of haggling and it's great but I want something new. I'm just going to go all out.

How is the stability on this hookah? It looks like it would tip over really easily. Otherwise, do you guys have any other ones you would recommend over it? If size doesn't make smoking different, I want something towering. I don't like the 48" MZ one though, just FYI.

Again, thanks for all the help, you guys are great. Edited by zzz

Correct me if I'm wrong, KM owners, but I think KM stems have a "nut" on the bottom of it, which makes it hard to use the store-bought diffusers. You might want to look into that before you spend $10 on something that won't work with your hookah.

You take that out, and a noticeable amount of "rumbling" and sound will be gone from your hookah upon taking hits.

You'd need a pipe cutter but I could never butcher a km. Here is a quick diffuser I figured out. Take a small bit of window screen and use a twist tie to secure it to the end of the little bell on the end of the stem. And you are done!

Sounds like a plan.

What is the diffuser supposed to do anyway?

Also, on a side note, what do you guys think of the glass phunnel bowls from MNhookahs? Are they prone to cracking under heat/cold (i tend to take the bowl off hot and rinse it to repack the next)?

I have one and no it is fine on heat/cold i do the same thing. I mean you can get one if you want but i would just get a small phunnel formt angiers and spend the other 45 on shisha/coals/hoses.
