For those of you who live in AZ, you really should try to make it. There will be lots of good Arabic food and of course, hookahs!!!!! It just so happens my birthday is this Sunday so I just might treat myself to a new hookah.

Check out the link above for more details and lots of pics!!!

Not having a car in AZ is hard times. I think the festival is every year so maybe you can go next year. This will be my first time going and it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.

I will definitely bring a camera to the festival. I am really really curious to see how much hookahs and tobacco will be through the vendors at the festival. I love the cultural festivals/events in town. I probably won't be taking too many pictures of the belly dancers because the wifey will be with me. She'll have to be the one taking the pictures!

Casa Grande is rough stuff. Are you going to be in Phoenix or Tempe at all? I can list you all the local places to check out depending on what brand of shisha/hookahs you are looking for.

I love Middle Eastern food! I lived in Saudi Arabia for 6 months during childhood and gained over 20lbs in one summer. Chicken Shawarma is my all time fave. I will definitely be grubbin' like a king and smoking like a champ. The camera is coming with me. Did you check out the pics from the above link to the festival? Very good pics... I especially like the ones of the food and the ones where the sea of people are chilling on the grass smoking hookah.

Yeah I know Casa Grande sucks big time, my brother use to live in Chandler.... I am pretty sure most of the time I will be in Casa Grande. I just wanna hit up any hookah stores in the general area to see whats its like maybe come back home with a hookah if I see a good price! I'd like a smaller hookah 22in-28in

The ones over here in NY are blah and boring. Nothing spectacular and over priced and sell knock offs and if they dont they sell the good hookahs for 150 dollars. Edited by newjacksm

newjacksm, it would be worth going to Phx or Tempe for a new hookah.

I know you want a smaller hookah, but how about a 36" KM Pear/Amoura for $69.99? If so, check out The Station near 19thst and McDowell. The owner is from Morocco and real nice. The KM Pear model is the only model of KM that he sells but for a real good price obviously.

Cafe Istanbul in Tempe carries a wide variety of KM and Syrian hookahs. A little bit more expensive but the owner is open to bargaining. Apache Blvd between McClintock and Rural

Tobacco + in Tempe has a good selection of Syrian hookahs. The store also has KMs, MZs, and MYA QTs. He is willing to sell the QT for $35.00 if you do some bargaining and pick up some tobacco maybe. Prices on tobacco is reasonable there. University near Hardy

Nana's Smoke Shop in Phoenix has a few different hookah options and is worth checking out. Ask for Sam. I saw a reasonable sized MZ for $60.00. 35th Ave and Union Hills

Haji Baba in Tempe has a few hookahs for sale. The owner is a nice guy. Syrian and Egyptian Hookahs. Apache Blvd between Rural and McClintock

Open Sesame in Glendale has a decent hookah selection. Syrian and Egyptian hookahs mostly. 35th Ave and Greenway

Baiz Market has a fair selection of hookahs as well... Mostly Egyptian hookahs but they have cheaper ones too. They are in Phoenix near 20st st and Roosevelt.

A&A Smoke Shop has nice MYAs. Mill and Southern

That 70's Shop and Hookah Lounge also carries MYAs. But they are a little more pricey there because he will replace parts for free if you purchase through him. 7th st and Camelback.

All of these stores carry a decent amount of tobacco and coals as well. Edited by MrMoodz

Thats real cool, I own a amoura already. I wish my brother still lived in Chandler I seriously loved that town I dont know if I will be traveling to pheonix or tempe though as I wont have a car when I get down there. Maybe my brother will lend me one? if thats the case then I'll make the trip to those stores.

Thanks for the info. I guess I won't be expecting to be awed by the hookah selection/lounge. BUT, I know the shawerma won't be a letdown!!!

In terms of hookah, the Arab American Festival was definitely a wash. They indeed only had one hookah vendor and the selection was awful and the MYAs were very pricey. The only good deal was $2 for 50g Fusion Boxes. I picked up a 50g of Watermelon and a 50g of Strawberry Mango Lemonade. The lounge was hosted by Layalena Restaurant in Tempe. Good looking hookahs but we ended up coming home a little early to smoke. There were 3 vendors serving Shawerma and I happened to pick the worst one... it was good, but definitely not the best I had. So in the end, I'm glad I went to check it out and I'm glad there was a really good turn out. I wish there would have been more hookah varieties. Edited by MrMoodz
