Tangiers Small Phunnel Bowl Q's

just ordered a small tangiers phunnel bowl from hookahcompany.com havent got it in yet and wanted to ask a few questions about it. 1st what is the best way to configure the holes in the foil to get the best smoke and what coals to use? 2nd do you need the glass mod from mnhookah.com to make it work right or is it fine with out it.

I use 2 rings around the outer edge and about 5 in the center. Whatever coals you want. Only need the mod if you are ot packing a full bowl.

Totally agree. I've been playing around with different numbers of holes for my small phunnel, and I've concluded too many holes can definitely rob some flavor and clouds.

I use two rings of holes towards the outer edges. 12 around the edge, and 8 more for the 2nd ring. I haven't used a middle hole at all yet, but will experiment further.

i use 3 coco's on a small tangiers funnel, i just do medium sized tooth pick holes all around and an extra big hole on the middle. get's good clouds and great flavor but idk mush would know more about it than me he does own a hookah bar and all

i use 3 rings but i make them very close to each other so they're still on the outer edge of the bowl, the holes i make are very small because i poke using only the tip of the toothpick.. I don't put rings on the middle.

Mine is 3 inches wide and 4 inches tall. But other mediums will vary in height, and a bit in width as well.

I do holes all over and never once have I had a problem with lack of flavor. Use pin sized holes. Many many of them.

I use toothpick sized holes, and poke down through the shisha. In my experience, when I'd use holes all over, I'd use too many (for that size anyway). It's not that I had a lack of flavor or was dissatisfied, but I get even more flavor, with less toothpick sized holes (I've found 2 rings, totaling 20 holes to be perfect for my setup. I also didn't care for the way the draw felt with pin sized holes.

I just find that less ash gets in the shisha using smaller holes. The flavor tends to stay more consistent for a longer period. I use toothpick sized holes for Tangiers, but not brands like AF, Nakhla, Layalina, etc.
