newjacksm
Ok so I seem to be very very close almost too close.... Seems it may be my hole pattern. I get great flavor and great clouds consistancy for about 30-45 min the flavor is dieing out. I figure I need to put on some more heat / new coals because its about that time anyways for new coals. So I put on more coals and then the taste is all burnt and all smoke. I take off one coal and add a a small coal and I get small flavor and small clouds. What the heck?I am pretty sure this is a hole pattern issue but could be wrong any tips?
r1v3th3ad
I make my foil pattern in circles...I start making circle as close to the outside edge of the bowl as possible...then make a circle a tiny bit closer to the center. If I'm using my gigantic phunnel, I put another two circles in, otherwise, its fine, but sometimes make a third row.My general rule is using three halves of 33mm quicklights...sometime doesnt need that, depending on wind and room temp...also if I'm using windcover. This way take 7 mins or so to start getting nice clouds. It is generally perfect heat. Sometime I throw an extra half on to get it going and then take it off after a few mins, so it doesnt get harsh.hope this helps ya
