My local hookah bar creates a wonderful mix of mint, rose, and kava kava (a plant with relaxing properties). Do you have any special mixes that your hookah bar / you make?

mint/rose and double apple/rose are staple mixes for us here too. Mint/sweet melon as well. Cappucino with 1/3 milk in the base and a tablespoon of creamer is another one.

This post has been the topic of much discussion behind the scenes. Smoking the Kava plant does nothing unless it is prepared correctly. And boy does it taste like an asshole either way.

They must have just told you it was in there... cause god damn is it a horrible feeling in your nose when it's smoked.
If they did throw some powder in there, there wouldn't be enough and it wouldn't be fresh enough for you to have a calming feeling or the numbing in your mouth. The only way to get true kava effects are form ordering it fresh, in root form. Edited November 5, 2008 by Hippo_Master

Other than new mixes of shisha all the time, We'll occasionally put cinnamon and/or clove spice in the bowl. It gives a little of the numbing effect you get in clove cigarettes. You also get the nice baking cinnamon smell and taste.
