Why No Handles On Some Windcovers?

Recommended Posts

Mine's got this flimsy little handle that only comes out less than an inch from the windcover - and it gets hot as fuck anyways, so I have to take it off with tongs.

Since it's flimsy and the tongs aren't precision devices, I'm always scraping the foil off the bowl or knocking coals off into the tray (or worse - onto the table) because of it.

Mine's the tall screen from HC.

This is for stuie, or anyone else that has a fez windcover.

I just took a coat hanger, cut some edges off to make it smaller and bended the ends a bit..

I would post more pics but its currently at my friends house..

It's to better train you to tolerate the heat produced by the haduken.

i have the h-s wind cover and the handle works ok, not the best but its ok, i dont get burned on it.

i also dont have a huge issue with getting burned since ive started blowing glass because when you are dealing with 2000* stuff you learn how close and how long you can touch metal that dont look hot but very well could be

Sadism.

I hope that's not where my Hookah-shisha wind cover has been...

They are a bit smaller and ergonomically shaped then the HookahCompany ones..

Um... did you (and kvtaco) just get sadism and sodomy mixed up?

What is it with making windcovers with no handles or with bad handles? Don't the makers realize that the windcovers get hot.... and need a handle.... so we don't burn ourselves

all the wind covers that sit on the coal tray dont get hot at the bottom, so basically all windcovers but the fez one

i dunno cuz i have a big one that goes over the whole bowl too and sits in the ash try. it gets pretty darn hot all over; if they're wasnt a handle i dunno how i'd pick it up.

maybe its that my bowl sits up a little higher than most hookahs since i have a rotator but unless i have a coal in the tray i have a few inches of cool metal there to grab. it could also be the metal of the cover being something else than mine is
