My New Hookah Smoking Place

Recommended Posts

well, after being charged $900 (discounted to $200 for being a good resident) for burnt carpet at my last apartment, and about 300-400 at my old apartment, I decided to take some precautions at my new apartment.
It took me a few weeks to do that mainly because I had no tools and therefore had to go to Home Depot back and fourth several times on weekends.
Anyone with the tools and a garage will do a much better job, but I like my new smoking place. It's not finished yet, and will change in the next few weeks.

So now I need a new hookah that would look good here .. I already asked for suggestions in a different thread, but they are welcome here too.

wow man. totally cool. how much did it cost to make??

thanks. well, not too much.

i spent about 80 bucks total on 2 carpets, about 40-50 dollars on wood and table legs.
I had the drill, so I only had to buy a hole saw, which was around 30-35. And I used my old futon mattress along with my old pillows. Better than paying several hundred dollars for burnt carpet.

That's a really good investment, especially given how much you were charged in the past. Good job thinking outside the box!

very impressive, nice work my friend.

when you say 80 bucks for carpet you mean the rugs right? Where did you get them from, they're beautiful (look like persian rugs) and its a great deal!

I'm not big of a designer, lol, and I was making the table in my living room with a small 18volt drill/saw., sot its pretty shitty smile.gif)

but like Hojo said, as long as it keeps the coals off the carpet -- I am happy, or at least on the rugs and off the carpet. I will probably throw it away anyways in a year when I move out.

the hookah on the right iz MZ Oasis... or at least I think it is. I bought it in a shop near Washington DC a long time ago, before I knew there were different brands of hookahs. Then someone posted a picture of MZ Oasis and mine looks very similar. Edited by adike

yeah, rugs i mean. Ikea, my friend. Evil store, where you buy things you will never need. I bought tons of stuff when I was getting these rugs. They are very nice quality to be honest, the similar size/feel in other stores I saw for about 100-120 each.

Nice job! All I will say is you should stain the table and it will look more appealing to the eye and match the decor better. Cheap and easy and I guarantee you it will make a huge difference. Nicely done though. I is jealous.

sick, you should start making them and selling them to the members on the forum, looks real clean.

No offense, bu the shipping charges alone would make the price skyrocket, not to mention how big of a PITA it would be. And honestly, this wouldn't be hard at all for anyone to make, as long as you have the tools. You could go buy all materials and tools still cheaper than what just the shipping charges alone would be.

Having said that, nice job! Definitely spend the extra few bucks at this point and stain it, it will look MUCH more refined.
