Phunnel Bowl

I just got my phunnel bowl. It's pretty sweet, but I am not as impressed as I thought I'd be. I might be doing the holes a bit wrong. I am just poking three rows on the outside, and a bald spot in the middle. Is that right?
Oh, and this is my fourth bowl with it. I am smoking Orange Shebert Fantasia with 40mm Goldens.

what do you mean by not as impressed as you thought it would be? try poking two rows of holes on the outer edge and no hole in the middle. Edited November 9, 2008 by modisess

the phunnel doesnt magically make your life amazing, and shisha fairies wont come through the purge valve and blow you; but it is a great accessory, try using 2-3 halves of the coals instead of whole ones, that way you can move it around and keep the shisha from burning and also so you can expose more of it to getting heat pulled through it.

The other day I did a 'blind' test, trying a hole in the middle and no hole in the middle. Everyone smoking concluded that a hole in the middle greatly increases airflow and makes pulling much easier. I also didn't notice any decrease in smoke density.
