shalowlow
So I smoked my Lucid Kashmir Cherry and the OG Melon Blend over the weekend. Here are my thoughts/concerns:I actually may have overpacked the Melon Blend if thats possible. Didn't have too much of a problem save the fact that the flavor was not as pernounced as I expected it to be. The smell of the tobacco itself smelled sweet, but also had a strong tobacco scent. I figured I didn't really have to acclimate that much cuz I live in Los Angeles, but maybe that was the problem. Maybe I just didn't like the flavor...maybe I just like Al Fakher better. Maybe I packed too much and burned it. Either way, I just ordered some guava and blueberry so i'll be able to judge a little better after these two as to whether or not Tangeirs is something that I can enjoy on a regular basis.Thoughts? I'd let the Melon Blend acclimate a little bit longer. You can pack too much in the bowl (something I've been doing lately) and the coals will start to stick to the foil because the juices are overflowing down the sides of the bowl and out the holes in the top. shalowlow
I wanna first say that I am honored to have the man himself chiming in on my post. Honestly, it makes the expirience so much better when the person that created the stuff that i'm dealing with makes himself so available. Thanks for your great products and your unrivaled customer service.Tangiers isn't as hard to deal with as it may seem. I still think I will eventually get it to smoke perfectly, but I got a few nice bowls already. I think the key isn't so much packing as it is dealing with the heat. It's really the biggest problem. I also found that it's a lot more time consuming to keep it going, especially when you can put some AF in the phunnel and literally kill it with coals and it won't burn. Acclimating is also an issue...I find that leaving the bowl where you smoke and coming back to it the next day works wonders.I still think the flavor was a tad underwhelming, maybe because everyone raves about flavor and flavor in sheesha means outrageous candy like extremes whereas Tangiers is more of a tobacco flavor with undertones of the subject flavor that still lets you expirience the natural flavors of the leaf itself. I think if people realized what to expect better, they wouldn't constantly be expecting something different and blaming themselves for it. But i've only tried a few flavors and maybe i'm way off base here. Finally, you definetely can overpack...I don't think it will mess your bowl up, but you will get flavor loss when all the juices are outside of the bowl, thats a pretty obvious point. Sonthert
Without guys like you, there wouldn't be any point in making Tangiers. Its a partnership at least. Thank you, too. After the four months, I changed my packing slightly got to consistently good bowls again.
