ryno
QUOTE (mattarios2 @ Nov 11 2008, 01:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>this makes me happy that my tri-metal is solid and great quality, no issues with it at all. For ideas on hookahs I say make a really wide Egyptian style vase. The km ones are always nice a big, but still can't handle my drunk friends. A really wide Egyptian vase would be pretty sick. That would be nice. One downside to KMs are the hose and hose ports. I think theres just too much there, and makes it too easy to tip over. Giant Ninja Robot
Very interested in seeing how the Tangiers hookah idea develops. I think it would be badass to fuse the egyptian and modern stems a bit into a sleek yet somewhat traditional group of designs. I'm sure there are ideas that have yet to be explored or developed to the fullest potential. Go Eric go! (And thanks for the miniphunnels)
NickReppinThe909
hey eric i have a few friends up here that either work at or own machine shops so i could probably get you a deal on the manufacturing aspect of the shanks. im going to try and come down again and bring zach sometime soon so i can talk to you about it discreetly then. as for the 40kg of bgb i will pick some up when i come down with zach if there is any left
Sonthert
Yeah big trays. Seriously. Good idea.Shank is the metal part of the hookah. See. $25-$30 is full price of Tangiers by the Kg. Who likes BGB?Yeah, I want to keep it local, San Diego, San Bernadino Co., Orange Co., Riverside Co. maybe Los Angeles. Might work. I want a closed and proprietary shopping though. New company, employees and confidentiality agreements. I have the designs in my head, I just have to draw engineering diagrams and schematics. I want them made in the U.S. definitely, and I want them to be competitively priced. I believe firmly that the American people are the hardest working, most inventive, brightest, most dedicated people there are. I think its a Shakespearian Tragedy to see skilled, motivated American workers without jobs. I want to do my part to change that. Fuck China, and their crooked industrial growth that mean Americans have to do without. We take it back together and we do it our way, the American way. Not that I have anything against people in most countries, Lots of countries have made great contributions to science, technology and industry. Too numerous to mention. I'm American, I'm proud of it. I'm sick of companies in the U.S. selling our workers out to save money. It stunk 10 years ago and it stinks even worse now.

Not so sure about the "hardest working, most inventive, brightest, most dedicated people" though. I don't think the Chinese workers spend their labor-days chillin' in the factory, doing next to nothing. On topic: A tangiers hookah sounds fantastic. And thanks for warning us about the quality of the KM-batch. Luckily I got my Hafa a long time ago.One question: do you think this Tangiers-hookah (or is it just the stem?) will be sold by other vendors after a while? Would love to get my hands on one. liquidglass
well first off I am all for a Tangiers Hookah that will become my new baby whenever they go into production.I agree a wider coal tray (or two coal trays, one regular, and one below it that's larger) is something I'm all for, and I love my traditional egyptian base but I can understand if it's not wide enough for some people. I'd love to see tangiers make a hookah, mmmm mmmm mmm. Also I'd def take a kilo of the BGB off your hands just let me know when and where!
Bulldog_916
I like blue gumball. And its close to 40 bucks full price for a kilo of Tangiers at any vendor we know. Maybe whole sale it's 25-30. I'd love to see what a Tangiers hookah would look like. Would I buy one? Of course.
chinamon
i would definitely buy a tangiers hookah instead of buying another KM.eric always does everything proper.
r1v3th3ad
I had an idea briefly pop into my head that I dont know whether it is a good one...on a stem, make a hollow section between decorative outside and the stem within to the downstem...anyway, make a gap there and put in those gel ice-packs(in the plastic still of course). Could freeze the stem + ice water in base for a great session....just another random idea of mine.I doubt that thats the path Tangiers wants to take, but I thought I would throw it out there anyway. Dom
Eric, you know i love Syrians, so i'll be kinda biased in my response. a lot of people on this thread are expecting an Egyptian style shank. "Everyone" loves 'em. the Egyptian style is everywhere and Myas are everywhere, but when a Syrian comes along, people stop and look and appreciate. go for a Syrian style, man. or at least the Syrian idea of super-detailed designs along the bell and tray. a big tray would be cool, but what i really like in a tray is one that is seccured down by the male piece above it. like the new Nour.another reason i like Syrians so much is most of their hoseports are angled upward more than most Egyptians. having the port angled outward makes it easy to knock over or just get in the way. not to throw too many random ideas out there because i know that making shanks will be taking up a lot of your time - what about making hoses? dude, i'd rock a hose with "Tangiers" written on the handle!so there's my input. good luck. i can't wait to see them. joelhookah
I want a super wide hose tray, nice wide ports, upward angled hose port, not common chamber, details like a syrian nour, washable hose like the razan that doesnt fall apart. On a side note, what about making a windcover that fits a phunnel? Hippo_Master
If I would have to guess, Eric would go All Brass, Traditional Heart, One-Piece, wide gauge.
Sonthert
I like Syrians too, solid cast and machined brass. I also want to make a good quality stainless steel shank...maybe even silver plated shanks. Sir, I believe you are an American. I don't care what race, color, creed, nationality or religion people claim as theirs, we're all Americans. I refer only to that foreign country that American companies keep squatting for, not the people of China. Its not the people's fault. Fuck China refers to American companies sending manufacturing jobs over to China, not the country or the people of. Just the shanks for now. Bohemian jars will always be plentiful (hopefully plentiful).
